Building a team is a crucial step in games like Wuthering Waves. Players would want to optimally compose their party to make sure the main DPS can deal the highest DMG possible without missing out on potential sub-DPS. In WuWa, dodging is a prominent part of the game, which means players can avoid damage if they continue enhancing their dodging timing. However, if avoiding hits gets too hectic to do, then the third slot of the team should be filled by someone who can protect the party, either by shielding or healing.
Of course, not only knowing these steps, but WuWa Rovers must also understand the role of each Resonator to know how to match them with each other. For that, this guide will explain how to make team comp in Wuthering Waves.
Wuthering Waves: Pecok Flower Locations
Characters like Encore and Jiyan requires Pecok Flowers to level up in Wuthering Waves; this material is often misspelled as Peacock Flowers.
Team Comp In Wuthering Waves
Similar to Genshin Impact teams, building WuWa team comp also revolves around the roles of the characters. Ideally, players will want to have DPS + Sub-DPS/Support + Healer/Shielder to fill the limited three slots. However, it's also viable to play with two main DPS, such as mixing Havoc Rover in Wuthering Waves with Danjin, or completely skipping on the Healer/Shielder slot and simply relies on skillful dodging.
Rovers can check the following list to know the ideal roles for every Wuthering Waves character available in version 1.0:
DPS
- Jiyan
- Calcharo
- Encore
- Danjin
- Havoc Rover
- Chixia
- Lingyang
Sub-DPS/Support
- Yinlin
- Mortefi
- Sanhua
- Jianxin
- Spectro Rover
- Aalto
- Yuanwu
- Yangyang
Healer/Shielder
- Verina
- Baizhi
- Jianxin
- Taoqi
Team Composition Examples In Wuthering Waves
Here are some examples of WuWa team comps:
- Jiyan + Mortefi + Verina
- Jiyan + Aalto + Baizhi
- Calcharo + Yinlin + Verina
- Encore + Sanhua + Verina
- Encore + Yangyang + Jianxin
Jiyan, Calcharo, and Encore are all the top-DPS in version 1.0. In the second slot, players can use Sub-DPS/Support such as Mortefi, who deals coordinated damage on his Ult similar to Genshin Impact Xingqiu; Aalto, who can boost Aero DMG; Yinlin, who provides Electro boost for Calcharo; Sanhua, who's the only booster available for Encore in Wuthering Waves 1.0, since there's no proper Fusion buffer yet; and Yangyang, who can provide crowd control for Encore, especially when she activates Mayhem and deal large damage after a short delay.
Meanwhile, in the Healer/Shielder slot, players can use Verina, who's the top healer in version 1.0; Baizhi the F2P healer; or Jianxin, who works as a sub-DPS but also works as a shielder and minor healer.
