Because of that, DPS is a big part of the game’s mechanics to ensure balanced encounters between characters and enemy monsters. Yet, with the journey of making every character feel unique, you’re bound to always have some units perform better than others.

It's a known fact that most players will always want to go for the best characters in games like Wuthering Waves, especially the DPS ones, since they're able to carry their team DMG while clearing content quickly. So, for players eager to pull the best units, this list will rank the best DPS characters in Wuthering Waves.

10 Chixia

Chixia is a simple main DPS that mostly depends on her Basic ATK and Resonance Skill to deal DMG. You build her Forte Gauge with her Basic ATK before holding down her Skill to focus on an enemy and melt it with her bullets.

While she can be useful when getting more of her Resonance Chain’s Sequences, she still can’t come close to most DPS units in Wuthering Waves, especially the main DPS ones.

9 Lingyang

Lingyang is a single-target DPS that is mostly good against bosses in Wuthering Waves. However, when he goes into his airborne state, he becomes slow and inconsistent with his movement. So, for a character that is supposedly good against hyper-attacking big enemies that move a lot, Lingyang suffers to follow up and be able to reach them in his best state. These drawbacks create a high ceiling to master and make Lingyang hard to use in battles. Because of that, Lingyang ranks poorly as a reliable DPS in Wuthering Waves.

Spectro Rover can inflict high DMG with their Resonance Skill and Liberation. Instead of operating as a main DPS, it’s better to use them as a Sub-DPS unit, where you let them in, cast their Skills, and trigger their Outro Skill on their way out.

As a starter character, Spectro Rover serves their purpose and teaches players how to play Wuthering Waves. But eventually, another DPS must take their place, especially one who carries a Deepen Outro Skill.

7 Danjin

For a character that screams main DPS, it’s awkward to have her Outro Skill being a Supportive one in Wuthering Waves. Danjin is a Havoc DPS unit with a kit that offers unique gameplay mechanics. Her Resonance Skill doesn’t have a cooldown and Danjin consumes some of her HP to cast it. However, when maximizing her Forte Gauge and casting her Heavy ATK, Danjin gets some of her HP back. Danjin can be hurtful to enemies and herself at the same time, which creates fun encounters in Wuthering Waves.

6 Mortefi

Mortefi is a diverse character that can be a main DPS and a Sub-DPS thanks to his Resonance Liberation, which gives him freedom during combat. Basically, when Mortefi casts his Ultimate, he can deal a decent amount of off-field DMG. Now, add his Outro Skill that gives the next character a whopping 38% Heavy ATK DMG Deepen, and you have a powerful Hybrid Sub-DPS that can be very useful in most Mortefi teams in Wuthering Waves.

5 Sanhua

Sanhua’s combo is one of the most addictive and satisfying series of hits in Wuthering Waves. Once Sanhua makes it into battle, she’ll spread ice with her Intro Skill. Cast her Resonance Liberation and follow it immediately with her Skill to create a total of three layers of ice, then time her Heavy ATK to go through them and explode them all to deal a huge burst of DMG.

This entire combo takes around five to six seconds to perform and fill out both her Concerto and Resonance Energy, which is crucial for her kit. Sanhua is an amazing Sub-DPS with a good Outro Skill that definitely deserves to rank high in any Tier list in Wuthering Waves.

4 Havoc Rover

Havoc Rover possesses one of the hardest-hitting Resonance Liberations in Wuthering Waves. You can put them in a team that rotates to fully enhance their Resonance Skill and Burst, or operate them as main DPS units to stay longer on the field.

All in all, Havoc Rover is a versatile, powerful unit that works well with others and provides a stable DPS no matter what their role is during combat.

3 Encore

Encore’s normal state looks mediocre, but once she enhances herself with her Resonance Liberation, she becomes a chaotic DPS. Without her Ultimate, Encore is a ranged unit like a Catalyst user in Genshin Impact, while with her Ultimate, she goes melee.

Other than that, once players are almost done with her Ultimate State, they can use Encore’s Heavy ATK to trigger an explosion in a large AoE. The best part of this is being able to switch to another character while Encore is preparing her explosion, giving a small window for buff and/or crowd control.

2 Calcharo

Calcharo is arguably the best DPS in Standard Banner and your safe pick out of the other DPS units in Wuthering Waves. What makes Calcharo so good is his ability to keep his DPS high no matter what he’s doing. Of course, all his DPS starts doubling once you activate his Resonance Liberation and go into his Deathblade Gear state.

Wuthering Waves: Flautist Locations

Flautist is one of the many TDs players may want to farm in Wuthering Waves.

Since Calcharo has a strong Basic ATK, Heavy ATK, Resonance Skill, and a beautiful Ultimate that merges all the previous Talents together, Calcharo can work with everyone and allows anyone to join Calcharo teams in Wuthering Waves.

1 Jiyan

Jiyan, with his Resonance Liberation and Heavy ATK, is one of the strongest characters in Wuthering Waves. His ability to control all enemies around him while dealing a massive amount of DMG, puts him on top of any tier list. Jiyan also enjoys a great partnership with Mortefi since both of them trigger the best in each other’s kits and synergize perfectly to clear any hard content.

Finally, Jiyan can synergize with many other characters because of his unique, yet simple playstyle, making him a great first limited banner character in Wuthering Waves.
