Exploration in Wuthering Waves is one of the most rewarding parts of the game, promising players a vast open world with tons of content to explore, secrets to uncover, and chests to unlock.

The developers have put a lot of emphasis on making sure that the act of exploration feels good to do by allowing players freedom of movement. Characters can run up walls, use grappling points to cover large distances, and teleport to previously discovered locations easily. However, players have discovered a way to make exploration even easier using a technique called the Super Jump. Here is how players can perform it.

How to Super Jump (Extended Version) in Wuthering Waves

A Super Jump in Wuthering Waves only requires five simple steps:

  1. Jump
  2. Attack (Plunge Attack)
  3. Dash
  4. Attack (Plunge Attack)
  5. Grapple

Holding directional movement during the dash part of the Super Jump dictates if a character does a back flip or a front flip. It’s always better to hold W (or the forward hotkey) during a Super Jump so that the Character always front flips. This doesn’t matter when trying to cover a vertical distance, but when trying to jump across chasms, it can be the difference maker between getting to the other side or not.

Not all characters in the game can perform a Super Jump. Resonators that use a Rectifier or a Pistol cannot Super Jump because when a Rectifier or Pistol user uses an attack in mid-air, they don’t do a plunge attack; they either stay in mid-air like Verina and Mortefi or perform a mid-air attack like Baizhi. Only characters that wield Broadblades, Swords, or Gauntlets can do a proper Plunge Attack. The telltale sign that a character can properly perform a Super Jump is that when they use a basic attack in mid-air, their character model jumps upward before plunging down. To perform the Super Jump, press Dash at the apex of their first Plunge Attack and then use Grapple at the apex of the next one.

Taller characters like Calcharo and Jiyan cover more distance with a Super Jump than medium/low height characters like Rover and Sanhua. Players can obtain Yuanwu (4-Star Character) for free after unlocking the Tower of Adversity in Wuthering Waves .

How to Super Jump (Simple Verison) in Wuthering Waves

While performing a picture-perfect Super Jump covers the most distance, it is not the easiest thing to perform, especially when mindlessly exploring the map. A much easier variant of the jump can be used to cover nearly as much distance without the hassle of having to remember to press all the keys in the correct order every time.

The Grapple tool has a 12-second cooldown, meaning if players mess up a Super Jump, they either have to forgo the idea completely or wait for 12 seconds to try again. In 95% of use cases, the simpler variant of the Super Jump is just as effective. Here is how to perform it.

  1. Jump
  2. Dash
  3. Grapple

Players can also weave in a Plunge Attack after the Jump or after the dash to gain a little more distance, but just the basic Jump > Dash > Grapple should usually be more than enough.
