Wuthering Waves is an open-world RPG that incorporates a variety of combat styles for players to enjoy. The game is fantasy-based and tries to blend real-world catastrophes into a dystopian scenario. Among the many chests, enemies, and characters players can use, some quests help unlock certain regions and provide vital lore to the game.
The exploration quest titled Shadows of the Past is Act 2 of the Tiger’s Maw Mine quest chain. It unlocks after completing Hidden Dangers In A Peaceful Life, and is a time-gated quest. Hidden Dangers In A Peaceful Life will have players interacting with Xiaoyu from the Ministry of Development. If you haven’t unlocked that part of the map, following this quest will help you do so. Many of the Resonance Beacons are in places that are hard to reach, so if you follow the quest you can unlock them along the way.

How To Wait For Xiaoyu’s Message In Shadows Of The Past
Once you have completed Hidden Dangers In A Peaceful Life, the second part of the quest: Shadows Of The Past will unlock. The prompt on the navigation screen will ask players to “Wait for Xiaoyu’s message.”
Unfortunately, there is no set action you have to do, because the quest is time-gated. Players will have to wait 24 hours in real time to unlock the next part. You will have to calculate and keep an eye on the time from when you finish Hidden Dangers In A Peaceful Life. No amount of configuring the in-game timer or playing the game normally changes the time, so you will have to wait.
Keep in mind that there may be future quests that will also be time-gated like this one.
Shadows Of The Past Quest Walkthrough
After speaking to Xiaoyu, the quest will take you back to Tiger’s Maw Mine, where you will need to speak to some officials.
How To Break The Ice Chrysalis
There is a Tacet Discord/Overlord Echo Boss underneath the Tiger's Maw Mine, and Rovers will need to clear out the ice chrysalis it has created. There are three Ice Chrysalises that will be marked on the map. Each one will be guarded by multiple Elite enemies, so remember to equip your best characters before moving on.
Be aware that the Elite enemies guarding the chrysalis are all protected by a shield. There will be three ice crystals surrounding them. You have to break each one before fighting the enemy. The crystals also give the enemies an increased ATK boost, so you can easily lose HP if you do not get rid of them first.
Defeat All Enemies In The Cave
Once the entrance is open, head down into the mines where the Dust-Sealed Track is. The navigation will put you on a route towards the main boss: The Lampylumen Myriad. Stay vigilant, as there will be multiple Elite enemies along the way that you will need to kill.

The Lampylumen Myriad Echo Boss (Defeat The Kaguya Army)
The Lampylumen Myriad is an Overlord boss and is not too difficult to battle. It deals significant Glacio DMG to all enemies in the vicinity, and tends to teleport a lot during the fight. In addition, the Lampylumen Myriad does three consecutive attacks of AoE Glacio DMG by jumping up and down. Players can combat this by either running away or timing their jumps.
Once the main shield is broken, you have a set amount of time to unleash all possible attacks and kill it for good. After the battle is done, the navigation will take you back to the mine for a little chat with the NPCs. The quest will then be completed and players will receive a ton of rewards, along with some Trophies to claim as well.
