Crystal Solvent is a valuable resource in Wuthering Waves, an action RPG game known for its immersive world and dynamic combat system. This rare item plays a crucial role in managing the game's energy system, better known as Waveplates, allowing players to participate in various resource-rewarding activities without being constrained by natural energy regeneration limits. Much like Fragile Resin in Genshin Impact, Crystal Solvent provides a way for players to gain 60 Waveplates instantly, and as such enabling players to grind materials from Overlord bosses, Tacet Fields, and more, while also helping players level up their Union level faster.

It's worth noting that while acquiring and using Crystal Solvent effectively can significantly enhance players' progress and enjoyment in the game, it is still a limited resource and can be used strategically, so that players do not run out of it while wasting it in early SOL3 levels where the rewards are significantly lower. As such. It's recommended that players wait until they are at least level 40 Union Level to use it for content such as Tacet Fields.

In the upcoming version 1.1 of Wuthering Waves, the devs have mentioned QoL updates for Echo farming, allowing players to farm required Echo materials even easier. As such, it is worth considering to keep most of the Waveplates for the upcoming patch, as well if players are primarily considering to use it for Echo material farming .

How to Get Crystal Solvent in Wuthering Waves

There are a few ways of getting Crystal Solvent in Wuthering Waves, some of which are repeatable, but most are through one time only rewards, making it a relatively rare resource.

Completing Milestones in Guidebook: So far, players can receive a total of 4 Crystal Solvents through the Guidebook Milestones, with 2 of them being on stage 3 and the other 2 being on stage 4. With further expansion of this Milestone section, players might be able to receive more.
Leveling Up Data Bank: Alongside increasing higher rarity for Echo drops, or increasing Stamina, some Data Bank milestones (1, 5, 8, 15) also provide 2 Crystal Solvents each.
Union Level Rewards: By increasing Union Level to certain milestones, players will be able to claim additional Crystal Solvents, such as through reaching level 25 and 35 to claim 6 of them in total in Awakening Journey, or by reaching Union Level 40 and 60 to claim 10 and 15 Crystal Solvents respectively through the Bundles in section in the Store.
Developer System Mails: Players have also received a significant amount of Crystal Solvent through Mail, either for celebrating certain milestones (like reaching 30 million downloads) or otherwise also for certain Bug Fixes.
Leveling up Pioneer Podcast: The only relatively repeatable way to get Crystal Solvent as of now is by leveling up the Battle Pass, known as the Pioneer Podcast, to at least level 45 during each version update. This will reward players with 5 Crystal Solvents per patch. However, if players choose to purchase the Insider Channel, they can receive 7 additional Crystal Solvents, increasing the total number obtained through this method to 12 per patch.

How to Use Crystal Solvent in Wuthering Waves

Using the Crystal Solvent will instantly give players 60 Waveplates, there are currently 3 methods for using them:

Go Terminal Menu > Backpack > Valuables Tab > Press Use after clicking Crystal Solvent
Go to Map > Click the + icon beside the Waveplate bar to Replenish Waveplate > Choose Crystal Solvent and Confirm.
Go to any Waveplate consuming activity without having enough Waveplates to claim the rewards, complete the activity and try claiming the rewards > choose Crystal Solvent as the Replenishment, similar to the second method.
