These echoes usually range from 1-3 Cost, the lowest amount you can equip a character with. The highest right now is 4-cost, and these are only found after defeating world bosses. There are 11 world boss echos, each with a characteristic that can work with any of your characters. The Tempest Mephis Echo Boss is one of the many and can be equipped with Electro characters, such as the 5-star Calcharo.

Wuthering Waves- How To Find The Tempest Mephis

The Tempest Mephis can be found underground in the Huanglong - Central Plains near the Qichi Village. To reach the boss, fast travel (teleport) to the Resonance Nexus in the area and head west. Once you reach a clearing of sorts, you’ll see a hole with an air current blowing upwards. Simply plunge into the hole, and you’ll see the boss up ahead.

Wuthering Waves- How To Defeat The Tempest Mephis

The Tempest Mephis looks scary, but players may be happy to find out that it’s not that hard to defeat. The boss specializes in Electro attacks, but there is no set resonance you can take to defeat it faster. Any resonance type seems to work; just be aware of its rapid slashes.

The Echo boss moves around a lot as it emulates the speed of lightning. It has a couple of attacks you will need to watch out for:

  • The first would be the teleport and slash attack. This can happen multiple times during the fight, where the boss disappears and reappears to slash you. This will deal significant damage in comparison to its normal slash attacks. Try and dodge it since you can anticipate when and where it will be. The boss moves diagonally before it slithers up to you for an attack. This happens pretty fast, so keep an eye out.
  • The second damage-dealing attack is the red beam it shoots at you. You can avoid this by dodging left or right under the beam if you accidentally get caught in front of it. This attack can happen multiple times or not at all, so keep an eye out since the Tempest Mephis will distance itself before launching it.
  • When it comes to close-up attacks, if you dodge an attack, there will be a moment where you can counter-attack the boss and deal sufficient damage. The trick is to dodge the slash and immediately attack when you see a yellow marker on the boss's chest. This will greatly reduce his shield.

Wuthering Waves: How To Use The Sensor and Levitator

Wuthering Waves is filled with new mechanics for players to learn. The Sensor and Levitator mechanics are two of many that are essential to exploring.

You'll need to move fast because this Echo can be really tricky to kill. Once you successfully break the shield, you have a set amount of time to kill the boss before the shield is up again. If you do not manage to kill it, just keep spamming your attack until it dies. Just remember to quickly dodge in time (which can be a little difficult if you aren't used to the game mechanics).

Best Characters For The Tempest Mephis Echo Boss

The boss has decreased Electro resistance, so make sure to take Resonators that don’t have the same Element. The following team compositions can work when fighting this boss:

  • Rover - Spectro
  • Yangyang - Aero
  • Verina - Spectro Healer or Baizhi - Glacio Healer

OR

  • Rover- Spectro
  • Mortefi/Chingxi - Fusion
  • Baizhi - Glacio Healer

Just keep in mind to bring an on-field healer, since the Tempest Mephis’s attacks are rather quick. Players should also not worry too much about the lightning surrounding the Tacet Field. It doesn’t really deal any DMG to your characters and affect your battle.
