Wuthering Waves fans noticed the recently released Patch 1.1 revamped some of the voice lines from previous story quests. The free-to-play action RPG quickly became one of the most successful launches in recent memory, amassing over 30 million downloads just within the first month of its release. But while Wuthering Waves has been praised for its fast-paced combat and free-flowing movement mechanics, players have also criticized the game for its story and the lackluster voiceovers for some characters.

It's safe to say that the release of Wuthering Waves was nothing short of a spectacular success for developer Kuro Games. Even before its debut, the open-world gacha title was already one of the most anticipated titles for 2024, with fans of the genre believing it would be one of the few free-to-play games that could stand toe-to-toe with HoYoverse's massively popular Genshin Impact. A leaked report also previously claimed that Wuthering Waves earned nearly $40 million within the first month of its release and was well on its way to surpassing its competitor in terms of revenue by the end of July.

Mt. Firmament is across the ocean, but Wuthering Waves players can ride a boat there if they follow these instructions.

However, that's not to say the game was completely free of issues. Apart from the various bugs that hampered its launch, Wuthering Waves players were particularly dissatisfied with the performance of the voice actors for the game's English dub, which many believed felt awkward and unnatural in its delivery. Thankfully, it appears Kuro Games has heard the complaints of its player base and is now re-recording voice lines to better fit with the game's overall tone. Fans noticed some of these changes were deployed with the release of Wuthering Waves' Patch 1.1, and the difference in the delivery of the dialogue is indeed noteworthy.

Wuthering Waves Releases Patch 1.1

Patch 1.1 also brought more than just a few revamped voice lines. The Thaw of Eons update featured the debut of the highly anticipated five-star character Jinhsi, who was previously introduced as the young Magistrate of Jinzhou. Players were also treated with a new explorable area with Mt. Firmament, a mysterious isolated island hidden in the mists of the southeastern ocean of the known map.

July is already shaping up to be a good month for Wuthering Waves, but players still have more to look forward to in the near future. Most notably, phase 2 of Patch 1.1 will feature the debut of the five-star sword-fusion resonator Changli, who has already gathered a sizable fanbase within the game's community through her design and gameplay. However, interested users will need to start saving their Astrite as soon as possible as Changli's banner is scheduled to launch on July 22.
