Wild Offerings Unlock A Rune & Unique Pre-BiS Gear

Wild Offerings are used both to complete a quest and to unlock unique SoD Phase 3 gear, and are an item that you can only get after completing (or at least starting) "The Wild Gods" questline. This quest begins in Feralas, requires players to get a Whispering Draught from Jintha'alor in the Hinterlands, then defeat the final boss of Razorfen Downs to speak with the loa Agamaggan.

After this first part of the quest, players are sent to three dungeons to defeat Delirious Ancients that can only be summoned by using an item after defeating each dungeon's final boss.

  • In Maraudon, players must defeat Princess Theradras to summon a Delirious Ancient
  • In Zul'Farrak, players must beat three bosses including Gahz'rilla to defeat the Ancient
  • In Blackrock Depths, players must beat the Ring of Law encounter at the end of the Detention Block

The Delirious Ancients will drop one Wild Offering for every member of a group that participated in downing it, including Raid groups. Consider heading into Maraudon, Zul'Farrak, or Blackrock Depths with a full 10-man Raid group to quickly down these bosses.

You will need three Wild Offerings to complete "The Wild Gods", a quest that rewards a Rune for every class. The Shadowtooth Emissary that begins and ends the quest also serves as a vendor that will trade a selection of pre-BiS items for more Wild Offerings.

Best Wild Offering Farm Methods

WoW SoD The Wild Gods Quest Delirious Ancient Spider Wild Offering ZulFarrak

To farm Wild Offerings WoW SoD players can choose one of three methods: Princess runs in Maraudon, Gahz'rilla (and two other bosses) in Zul'Farrak, or complete the first part of Blackrock Depths which is available in Phase 3. The Blackrock Depths method is the slowest of the three methods, but it does reward an array of pre-BiS gear for Phase 3 and is worth running on its own separately.

WoW Season of Discovery: How To Level Up Fast

Leveling in WoW SoD might be easier than ever before, especially in early level brackets, but it can still take a long time to get to max level.

If you want to exclusively farm Wild Offerings, both Maraudon and Zul'Farrak are your fastest and best bets. But if you just want to get some Wild Offerings on the side while acquiring other BiS gear, Blackrock Depths is a slower WO source but offers better gear than either Maraudon or ZF.

Maraudon – Princess Runs & Scepter Skip

To run princess skips in Maraudon for Wild Offerings SoD players need two things: the Scepter of Celebras, and a group that knows how to skip certain elements of the dungeon. The Scepter of Celebras is a reward for clearing the majority of both wings of Maraudon, so consider running the full instance with your group first so that everyone can perform the skip if necessary.

Once you have the Scepter, head to the portal room just outside the tunnel to the Purple wing, and activate it to spawn a portal that leads to the base of the waterfall in the latter half of the Purple wing of Maraudon. For optimal efficiency, sneak past the Hydras at the start, take on the wandering packs of mobs as you encounter them, and hug walls and walkways to prevent aggroing the stone giant enemies. You should only have to go into combat a handful of times if you can skip the majority of enemies this way.

At the end, defeat Princess Theradras, and use Agamaggan's Roar to reveal the Delirious Ancient circling her boss arena. After downing the Ancient and getting its Wild Offering, jump off the nearby ledge into the water and log out. You will log back in at the instance entrance and can easily turn around, walk out, and reset to go back in for another Wild Offering.

The Dark Riders are seven new elite enemies in WoW SoD that players must locate, and defeat, to unlock one Rune for each class.

Zul'Farrak – Gahz'rilla (... Plus Hydromancer and Witch Doctor)

The Zul'Farrak method is almost as easy as Maraudon, but has the potential to get ugly if the group takes it too casually. Enemies in Maraudon won't run away when they are close to dying and pull other groups, and the groups are relatively far apart. But in ZF, groups of enemies are really close together, and you'll have to carefully walk on the walls and hills surrounding the main dungeon path to get through.

Additionally, while Mara only requires you to kill Theradras, you must defeat three bosses in Zul'Farrak to see the Delirious Ancient – including Gahz'rilla, a boss that can only be summoned after acquiring the unique Mallet of Zul'Farrak in the Hinterlands. In addition to Gahz'rilla, kill the nearby Hydromancer boss and the Witch Doctor just before the main pyramid plaza for the fastest route. You will see the emote "you feel a shadowy presence" in chat when the Delirious Ancient is ready to be killed.

The Delirious Ancient spawns in the Gahz'rilla boss room, so use Agamaggan's Roar to reveal and defeat it, then head back to the front of the instance to reset. Efficiently farming ZF can be trickier than Mara because of the Mallet requirement and the density of mobs. However, the enemies in ZF are much lower-level than the ones in Maraudon, which can make it a much smoother experience with the right group – plus it's a good chance to get your Carrot on a Stick.
