In many ways, these special gems and sockets are reminiscent of the Rune engravings from World of Warcraft Classic Season of Discovery. These class-altering abilities give Season of Discovery characters a huge power boost, and even let them fill new party roles in the process. It seems like WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria gems and sockets are modern WoW’s take on the popular Season of Discovery feature.

Were that not enough, each World of Warcraft Remix character gets a Timerunner’s Cloak that transforms and gains bonus stats throughout the event. With no limit on how powerful it will become, and with its bonuses shared across alts during the event, players should have no trouble farming rare WoW cosmetic items from Mists of Pandaria like the Tusks of Mannoroth.

At the moment, World of Warcraft has not given a solid end date for the Mists of Pandaria Remix event. However, fans noticed the end date on the World of Warcraft Public Test Realm was listed as August 19. While the actual event could end sooner or later than that, a three-month run would be in line with what most players expected from WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria – and right around when the World of Warcraft: The War Within Pre-Patch event is likely to begin.
