With the new Cataclysm expansion in the World of Warcraft, there are more quests, toys, mounts, and optimal gear for every class and profession. Embersilk Cloth is an example of one new addition to the game that has various uses regardless of a character's professions or class, so it's important to know where to find it and farm it.

Embersilk is needed for the new First Aid level, a secondary profession every character and class needs to know, and it's crucial for Tailors. The new Illustrious level for this primary profession requires not only Embersilk as the primary crafting material but also as a currency.

World Of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic - The New Zones & How To Unlock Them

If you want all the details on World of Warcraft's new zones in Cataclysm Classic, and how to reach them, look no further.

Each new Faction in Cataclysm has important gear, recipes, and enchants that require an Exalted ot Revered reputation level to purchase. Once a player reaches Friendly with any of these Factions, they can buy a tabard and grind rep in level 85 and Heroic dungeons along with collecting generous amounts of Embersilk.

Mount Hyjal

A Level 80 Zone With Humanoid Enemies

  • A Level 80 zone with plenty of cloth drops

As one of the first zones level 80 players visit, Mount Hyjal is designed as one of the best places to farm several kinds of materials. Mountain Trout for Cooking and Fishing, Cinderbloom for Herbalists, and Embersilk for Tailoring and First Aid are just a few examples.

The Guardians of Hyjal have some of the most coveted gear, items, enchants, and trinkets among any of the new Factions, which is another incentive to quest through this zone. Grab a tabard from the Provisioner in Nordrassil as soon as that Reputation gets to Friendly, and make sure it's equipped for the upcoming dungeons.

Blackrock Caverns

Travel There In A Mole Machine From Hyjal

  • The first Cataclysm dungeon most players visit

It seems counter-logical to have the dungeon for the Guardians of Hyjal in Blackrock Mountain, but one ride in a mole-machine and here we are. There are already several dungeons in this location, so throwing another one in the pile makes sense. The summoning stone is still centrally located, suspended above that notorious lake of molten rock, which is handy to know because the mole machine won't always be available.

Take a left from the mole-machine and make sure the dungeon is set to Normal if your character isn't level 85 yet, and even if you're not in a group, it's possible to step in to get the questline going. The quests here will get you more Guardians of Hyjal rep as you farm the various Twilight Hammer minions for Embersilk.

  • Experience some ancient lore and collect some valuable cloth

Azeroth finally has an underwater level, and it gets easier once you get used to riding a seahorse in a three-dimensional environment. This isn't just a great place for the Embersilk, which drops from the wide variety of Naga that roam the zone, but also Cooking materials like Monstrous Crab and Blood Shrimp.

There's also the history of the place that's fascinating. This is where the Night Elves who followed Queen Azshara ended up after the Sundering, along with their beloved leader, and part of experiencing this zone extends to quests that take place in the past and allow the player to be a Naga Battlemaiden fighting against the ancient Vyrkul.

Uldum

Cloth Also Drops From Undead

  • Plenty of cloth to be found along with the Archaeology storyline

Join Harrison Jones in the deserts of Uldum for a storyline filled with movie and pop-culture references, along with a long questline that involves killing a large amount of undead and humanoid enemies. The Harrison Jones quests are actually seperate from the quests connected to the Uldum Accord, the new Faction in this zone, and it's recommended to take them all for optimal Embersilk yields.

World of Warcraft Cataclysm Classic: Archaeology Guide

Archaeology is a secondary profession in Cataclysm Classic, and here is how this unique skill works.

The Harrison Jones quests start in your Factions capital city, in either Orgrimmar or Stormwind, but the Uldum Accord chain starts with the Bulletin Board once a character reaches level 83. Follow them both south for plenty of opportune places for Embersilk, including the new dungeons of the City of Tol Avir and Vortex Pinnacle.

Vortex Pinnacle is home to a number of Elemental as well as humanoid enemies, so players can also run this dungeon to farm Volatile Air, another important Cataclysm crafting item.

The Stonecore

Deepholm's New Dungeon

  • Also an ideal place to collect Volatile Earth

The quests of Deepholm often involve Elementals or other ethereal creatures, so it's not as great for cloth as some other zones. The Stonecore, however, is the centrally-located new dungeon in the area, and it contains the minions of the Twilight Hammer along with the denizens of this dark underworld.

It's preferable to go through the quest line long enough to speak to Therazane, so she can give you the quest "Wayward Child" for the new dungeon. This is separate from the starter quest available upon arriving, "Into the Stonecore" which involves the Dragon Aspect Ysera.

Tol Barad Peninsula

A High Respawn Rate

  • Get some PvP done and take advantage of a small exploit

All of the enemies in this zone are either human or undead, so there's a chance that virtually all of them will drop Embersilk. They also have a faster than average respawn rate, being in a PvP zone, but the catch is that these are high level enemies backed up by players from the opposing Faction.

There are other reasons to visit this zone, even though it's far more dangerous than anywhere else to farm Embersilk, and the main incentives are the PvP goals. There are several daily quests to finish and rep to grind, so for those that are into the thrill of player-versus-player action, you can grind some rep in the meantime.
