One of the most important elements in the upbringing of almost every human being is their family. Humans are social creatures, and the people and places that raise them can make all the difference in the world. Even when that family unit isn't related by blood, it can still have a huge influence on how a person turns out.RELATED: Every Game Release Coming Soon For PS5 And PS4Unfortunately, others sometimes try to take advantage of this connection. This is often true with siblings, who can sometimes turn on one another and try to tear each other down. This can be true of both brothers and sisters, with video games having shown audiences some truly awful examples of the latter over the years.

6 Nina And Anna Williams From Tekken Keep Trying To Kill One Another

Nina vs Anna Williams from Tekken Cropped

Nina and Anna Williams are two fighters from the Tekken franchise and have an unhealthy fixation with beating one another. These aren't just friendly brawls either, as they have literally tried to kill one another. Anna also effectively let her sister undergo cryogenic experimentation and even chose to join in.

It's hard to decide which of the two sisters is worse in the case of Nina and Anna Williams. Both want to prove they are better than the other, and the only way they can think of to do that is by killing the other. The only slight saving grace is the fact that they are equally malicious instead of one murderous sister trying to kill the other.

5 Ayane From Dead Or Alive Wants To Kill Her Sister, Kasumi

Ayane from Dead or Alive Cropped

Ayane and Kasumi from Dead or Alive are half-sisters who were friends as children. However, Ayane began to resent Kasumi, who always seemed to be the preferred sister. This came to a head after Kasumi's brother and Ayane's half-brother, Hayate, was killed. Kasumi left the village to avenge Hayate, and Ayane was sent to kill her for abandoning the village.

Kasumi never felt anything but love for her half-sister, but Ayane continually showed nothing but pure hatred for Kasumi from then on. She would do anything she could to hurt Kasumi, and has tried to kill her several times over the years. Ayane has softened a little in recent times, but it doesn't take much incentive for her to go and try to kill her half-sister again.

4 Gwynevere Abandoned Her Brothers And Her Kingdom In Dark SoulsGwynevere Princess of Sunlight from Dark Souls Cropped

Gwynevere is the daughter of Gwyn, Lord of Sunlight. She is Gwyn's favorite child, as Gwyn banished an unnamed brother, and he always resented Gwyndolin for being born under the Dark Sun. Specifics are spotty for the Gwyn family, as much of Dark Souls lore is left deliberately vague by FromSoftware.

That being said, there is a largely agreed-upon lore interpretation, and it doesn't make any of the Gwyn family look good. In the case of Gwynevere, Princess of Sunlight, she abandoned Anor Londo with an unnamed God of fire. The kingdom had long been in turmoil, and she doesn't seem to have been interested in the plight of her exiled brother or the increasingly detrimental attempts by Gwyn and Gwyndolin to keep the Age of Fire going. Instead, she seemingly abandoned Anor Londo and her family to live in another realm.

3 Mortal Kombat's Mileena Wants Nothing More Than To Kill And Replace Kitana

Mileena MK11 Cropped

Mileena is the clone of Kitana created by Shao Kahn in Mortal Kombat. Mileena is half Tarkatan and half Edenian, and was created with the sole purpose of killing Kitana. She has never strayed from this mission and instead seems to relish the idea of killing and replacing Kitana.

Mortal Kombat 11 does try to give Mileena a bit more humanity than prior titles, showing a softer side of her that comes to fruition when she is able to start a family with Tanya. It also implies that Kitana was always repelled by Mileena, never giving her sister, clone, or otherwise, a chance to be family.

2 No More Heroes' Jeane Killed Travis Touchdown's Parents In Front Of Him

Jeane from No More Heroes Cropped

Jeane is the half-sister of Travis Touchdown in the No More Heroes series. Calling anyone in this franchise a decent person is a bit of a stretch, but Jeane did deliberately inflict some shocking cruelty on her half-brother. Travis' father is his biological connection to Jeane, and their father abused Jeane throughout her childhood. Travis was incited to start his revenge quest after Jeane killed Travis' parents right in front of him.

Jeane had no remorse over this and even taunted Travis. This led to the events of the first game in which Travis kills his way through mountains of enemies until he has his showdown with Jeane. In the end, he is able to kill her and get his revenge, but her death is not enough to fill the void left by his loss.

1 Delilah Copperspoon Had A Rough Upbringing And Targeted Her Sister's Daughter In Dishonored 2

Delilah Copperspoon Dishonored Cropped

Delilah Copperspoon is the half-sister of Empress Jessamine Kaldwin, who ruled over the Isles. Delilah was cast out of the royal Kaldwin household along with her mother when Delilah's father, Emperor Euhorn, grew tired of dealing with them. Delilah eventually learned the ways of magic and became a witch and made her first attempt at the throne after the death of Jessamine by attempting to put her mind in the body of Princess Emily Kaldwin.

In Dishonored 2, she gathered an alliance and took the throne by force. While Delilah's resentment toward Jessamine is understandable, taking it out on her niece is downright cruel. It's conceivable that Emily would have welcomed her aunt into the family, but Delilah destroyed any chance of that ever happening with her coup.
