Shigaraki's enhanced regenerative ability wasn't enough to keep up with the severity of the fire damage to his body. Shigaraki's battle scars were still evident after the criminals almost fled, which All For One used as cover to take control of his body.

Since Shigaraki deemed it crueler for Overhaul to live with defeat than to be killed instantly, he opted to spare his life. Overhaul is no longer a danger since his group was disbanded by the government.

Once All Might got back from the States, he was on a mission of revenge. Off-screen, he engaged in a fight with All For One and gave him a blow that shattered a large piece of his face. As a result, All For One was permanently scarred and impaired, and for the remainder of his life, he had to depend on scavenged Quirks to restore his vision.

Additionally, he was coerced into using a respirator that he needed for survival. All For One regularly brought up the event, portraying All Might's opponent's actions as an attempt on his life. However, it has not been established whether or not it was All Might's intended meaning.
