World of Warcraft just announced Patch 10.2, Guardians of the Dream, goes live November 7. The next big update for World of Warcraft drops the first weekly reset after the conclusion of BlizzCon.

Guardians of the Dream is the second major World of Warcraft patch since the release of Dragonflight. This huge update finally brings the Emerald Dream to life with a full zone featuring new activities to enjoy, rewards to collect, and chapters of the Dragonflight story, which culminate in the Amirdrassil, the Dream’s Hope raid.

As the Guardians of the Dream update draws near, Blizzard adds a simple way for World of Warcraft players to experience the new content quickly.

Now, World of Warcraft has shared the official release date for Patch 10.2. Starting November 7, players will be able to delve into the Emerald Dream zone, gain reputation with the new Dream Wardens Renown faction, and experience the first chapters of the new story. One week later on November 14, Dragonflight Season 3 begins with the opening of the Amirdrassil raid, allowing players to collect a new Legendary weapon in World of Warcraft. This will also bring the start of a new Mythic+ dungeon rotation, and will lead into the conclusion of the Patch 10.2 story.

Many of the early chapters of the Patch 10.2 story are available on the World of Warcraft Public Test Realm, but many of the juiciest story beats have remained encrypted. Players can expect some epic cinematics and major developments in the plot as they confront the Primal Incarnate Fyrakk within the new raid. If some datamined assets and abilities are any indication, however, Vyranoth may be joining as the sixth Dragon Aspect of World of Warcraft as they seek to restore their lost power.

Were that not exciting enough, BlizzCon is taking place the weekend before Guardians of the Dream drops. While most of Blizzard’s IPs have plenty to show off, president Mike Ybarra confirmed the Warcraft franchise had the most to reveal at the convention. There’s a good chance players will learn about the next World of Warcraft expansion pack, as well as something big for WoW Classic.

It remains to be seen if Patch 10.2 will be the last major patch for Dragonflight. So far, World of Warcraft developers have been dodgy on confirming or denying if it is, and fans have found items, achievements, and other elements of the game that suggest Dragonflight may follow Shadowlands’ example by only have two major patches. Regardless of whether a Patch 10.3 is on the way, players can be certain World of Warcraft still has more content planned for Dragonflight beyond Guardians of the Dream.
