World of Warcraft Reveals June 2024 Trading Post Rewards

With summer right around the corner, World of Warcraft's upcoming Trading Post rewards are set to help players celebrate the sun in style.

Now, World of Warcraft is about to begin the beta for The War Within. Starting June 5, players will begin to receive invites to test out the zones, Delves, and Dungeons available in The War Within beta, as well as the new Hero Talent trees, Earthen playable race, and Warbands features. Fans who do not want to leave their invite up to chance can secure their place in the testing by pre-purchasing the World of Warcraft: The War Within Epic Edition for $90, which grants guaranteed beta access, plus a three-day head start once the expansion releases.

When Is the World of Warcraft: The War Within Beta?

  • Wednesday, June 5.
  • Fans who pre-purchase The War Within Epic Edition gain automatic access to the beta, plus three days of early access to the WoW expansion.
  • Other players can opt in to the beta via the World of Warcraft website, where they may be randomly selected at some point during the test.
  • Alpha testers will likely be grandfathered into the beta.

When players who haven’t purchased the Epic Edition are chosen for the World of Warcraft: The War Within beta, they will receive an email informing them of their selection, and directing them towards the Battle.net client. From there, fans can choose The War Within Beta from the Game Versions drop-down menu, install the client, and begin their adventures. The email does not require players to verify any information – their launcher is updated automatically to include the beta client install option – so any messages claiming otherwise may be phishing attempts.

As a major milestone towards the release of a World of Warcraft expansion, The War Within beta may provide hints as to when the full launch will happen. Historically, beta tests start about three or four months before the expansion drops, with the Pre-Patch event happening one month before the release. If it follows precedent, World of Warcraft fans might see The War Within Pre-Patch around August 20 – the day after WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria ends – and the expansion’s launch somewhere between September 17 and October 1.
