Gamers will have from September 26 to October 24 to claim the latest Prime Gaming reward for World of Warcraft, which Blizzard revealed to be the Zipao Tiger Pet. This purple, crystalline companion will only be available in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight and can be claimed at no added cost by players who have linked their Battle.net and Amazon Prime accounts together.

Starting in April 2023, Amazon and Blizzard began a year-long collaboration that brought a variety of cosmetic items to World of Warcraft for players to claim and use. Among the initial rewards that players claimed were the Big Battle Bear and Feldrake mounts. Before the Prime Gaming collaboration, the Feldrake was a rare mount from the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game by way of a code printed on a loot card. While the Feldrake was the subject of controversy for World of Warcraft players, this new Prime Gaming reward is completely different.

World of Warcraft players who are also subscribed to Prime Gaming can link their Battle.net and Amazon Prime accounts together to claim the Zipao Tiger Pet. This purple feline companion was previously exclusive to the Taiwanese game client but later became available internationally in World of Warcraft via the Recruit A Friend system from 2013 to 2019. This window started shortly after the release of the "Siege of Orgrimmar" content update for the Mists of Pandaria expansion. During Battle for Azeroth, a number of Recruit A Friend rewards were retired, but Blizzard stated at the time that the rewards could return in the future.

Though it has been nearly four years, the return of the Zipao Tiger is the latest example of World of Warcraft using Prime Gaming as a way for players to claim rewards that would be impossible otherwise. Like other companion pets in World of Warcraft, the Zipao Tiger can take part in pet battles. In a pet battle, the Zipao Tiger is classified as a Magic type with high health, which makes it a reliable choice against Flying enemies.

The return of the Zipao Tiger comes at a busy time for World of Warcraft, between the return of the Turbulent Timeways event as well as ongoing player testing of Patch 10.2 on the public test realm (PTR). Though the pet will lose some of its rarity as a result of the Prime Gaming promotion, it remains to be seen how many World of Warcraft players will claim it.

World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
