World of Warcraft just announced the Plunderstorm Creator Royale, a battle royale tournament event where 60 streamers will compete for a cash prize of $50,000. These 30 teams of World of Warcraft content creators will face off for the chance to earn real-life plunder on March 30.

Plunderstorm is a new limited-time game mode for World of Warcraft added in Patch 10.2.6. The piratical battle royale pits 60 players against one another, either solo or in teams of two, as they collect Plunder to unlock rewards while trying to be the last one standing.

Plunderstorm is officially live in World of Warcraft, bringing with it tons of incredible rewards players can earn via the battle royale game mode.

To hype up the new game mode, Blizzard has revealed the Plunderstorm Creator Royale. This tournament features 60 different World of Warcraft content creators divided into 30 teams, each of which will compete over a series of Plunderstorm matches. Players score points for eliminating other teams, as well as surviving to be one of the last 20 teams remaining. After the fifth match, top-scoring teams can claim the $50,000 grand prize by placing first – but if no one does so before game eight, the winner of this final game sweeps the tournament, no matter how many points they have.

Some big names are taking part in the Plunderstorm Creator Royale. Disguised Toast, Maximum, Nobbel, Preach, Naguura, and Anniefuchsia are just some of the content creators players can expect to see in the tournament, but even some infamous World of Warcraft streamers like Asmongold will be participating. Goldenboy, Soe, and Esfand are not playing in the tournament, but will instead be the hosts for the event.

Plunderstorm has been a big hit with World of Warcraft fans. Though the battle royale’s PvP aspect isn’t for everyone, World of Warcraft recently made farming Plunder much easier, so earning the rewards from the limited-time game mode is much more forgiving. Either way, watching these big names in the WoW community clash for a real cash prize is something players can enjoy regardless.
