Character customization is a core facet of the MMORPG genre, letting players create their own unique characters to explore the games' sprawling worlds. As one of the premier titles in the MMORPG genre, World of Warcraft has given players different races and characteristics to create with over the game's almost seventeen-year history. Now, with the highly anticipated 9.1.5 update on the horizon, Blizzard has shown off some new customization options to be added alongside the update.

Blizzard recently announced that the 9.1.5 update of World of Warcraft's Shadowlands update would feature a slew of character customization options for several of the game's 'Allied Races.' The Lightforged Draenei and Nightborne were announced to receive several new options to play around with, including new hairstyles and skin colors among others, and several other races will be receiving smaller additions. A new post on the game's forum shows off some of those added features for the Lightforged Draenai and Nightborne races.

The post from World of Warcraft's forums showed off several different facets of character customization Blizzard is planning for the 9.1.5 update. Four different skin colors were shown for both the male Lightforged Draenei and the female Nightborne, with each skin color also changing different accents of the characters, like the Draenei's hooves. Images included in the post also featured a designs for the Draenei's horns as well as tattoos for the Nightborne.

Along with the customization options, Blizzard announced changes to the game's Island Expeditions, allowing players to undertake the quests solo for easy access to the valuable 'Azerite' currency. The World of Warcraft developer also mentioned previously that other races are on its radar to receive further customization options in future updates, particularly the Highmountain Tauren.

Character customization has been a sour point in recent years for World of Warcraft's legions of fans in recent years. While fans were generally pleased with the options added throughout Shadowlands' updates, many of the game's fans are still looking at areas World of Warcraft's character customization could improve. No release date has been confirmed yet for the 9.1.5 update but Blizzard will surely be looking to give fans plenty of reason to continue their quests in Azeroth, especially with the recent growth of the MMORPG giant's competitors.
