No matter how long a player has been exploring Azeroth, there's always another new place to find or interesting fact to learn. It's one of the ways that World of Warcraft keeps gamers immersed and entertained, or at least distracted. Around the beginning of the year, the streets of Moonglade are alight with the Lunar Festival lanterns. Add some decorations, novelty shopping, specialty food, and some spirited competition, and the result is a fun time in which everyone forgets their troubles in a hail of sparks and firecrackers.

Moonglade, a zone in the northern part of the continent of Kalimdor, is one of the oldest places in Old Azeroth that still survives intact from ancient times. Anyone interested in the lore of WoW should visit at least once, even if they aren't a Druid, and experience some of the stories that included Blizzard's most admired heroes and most reviled villains.

6 The Vendors Of Nighthaven

Everyone who visits Moonglade knows about Nighthaven, but for some reason, nobody calls it that. It's a habit of players to refer to this whole area as Moonglade and they forget that the city in the northern part of the zone has its own name. Nighthaven is accessible all year round, not just during certain events, and there are several vendors here that players quietly farm for some of the rarest, most valuable, and unique pieces of clothing in the game.

This includes a traditional Korean dress known as a hanbok, which is always available in certain colors, though players should watch out for the rare green one that can sometimes appear. Treats like kimchi and mandu, on the other hand, are always available from the innkeepers.

5 An Uncorrupted Place

There are a few neutral locations in Azeroth where all races and classes are welcome, and most of these places have some historic or spiritual importance, which is one of the reasons anyone can visit Nighthaven and Moonglade. It has a longer and more distinguished history than other places like Shattrath or Dalaran as one of the only places in Old Azeroth left uncorrupted after the Sundering.

The Sundering was a world-changing event that was ushered in by some careless magic use and demon summoning on the part of Queen Azshara. However, thanks to the intervention of Cenarius, who can still be found here, the Moonglade's reflection in the Emerald Dream retained its purity. The event was several thousand years before the conflicts between Orcs and Humans, and it created rifts in Night Elves society that lasted until the Cataclysm, which is why there aren't any Night Elf Mages in Classic.

4 The Rift Of Aln

Moonglade retains the peace and beauty of an older time, but its connection to the Emerald Dream means that it can still be a dangerous place. The two-headed monster Omen, who is normally a benign protector, sleeps under the placid waters of Lake Elune'ara and only wakes to pass into the material world during the Lunar Festival.

In the retail version of WoW, as part of the Warlords of Draenor expansion, players can enter the Emerald Dream to save a character named Malorne: a demigod that was trapped in the Emerald Nightmare. Players get to experience the War of the Ancients, the ancient battle that shaped the destiny of Moonglade.

3 Great Fishing

Even though Moonglade appears to be teeming with plant and animal life, there are no resources to be had here. There are no mining nodes, herbal plants, or beasts to be hinted at and skinned, which may be part of the True Neutral stance of Druids when it comes to the balance of nature.

The one exception to this is fishing. The zone is small, so options for fishing spots are few, but for those that want to drop a fishing line into Lake Elune'ara, there are some Greater Sagefish to be found.

2 Ancient Buddhist Pagodas

Notice one for the first time, and all of a sudden they're everywhere. There are several pagodas decorating the hillsides of Moongalde, and they can be found in both the city of Nighthaven and near the Stormrage Barrow Dens. One of the biggest is on the hill behind the wooden porch where the Lunar Festival vendors are standing.

These closely resemble Buddhist pagodas that decorate important places in real life. Many of the small details are the same, like the three-story body that stands on a two-story platform, so it's obvious that the similar design isn't an accident.

1 The Moonkin Festival

There are two kinds of world events in Azeroth, the major ones that last for more than a week and micro-events that only last for a day or two. Some of these short and sweet events have some of the rarest and most unique items in World of Warcraft just because so few players know about them. Let this be a lesson that it's important to check the game calendar.

The Moonkin festival is one of these short holidays and takes place on a single day, every November 12th. Moonkin is just another way of saying Druid. Even though the name of the holiday closely resembles the colloquial term for a DPS Druid, a Boomkin, this is for all the Moonkin and those that consider themselves allies. Any player can go to Moonglade to see the revelry and participate in the festivities, including the main quest, Moonkin Monitoring, which awards a Moonkin Hatchling pet.
