Highlights

  • Many Pandaria raids in WoW now have daily lockouts, making transmog farming easier for players wanting to earn the new Bronze currency.
  • Mists of Pandaria Remix offers a chance for players to experience old content, collect cosmetics, and enjoy raids daily.
  • Blizzard's concession to daily raid resets for the Remix event has been praised by WoW players, suggesting a potential shift in older raid content.

Many Mists of Pandaria raids in World of Warcraft will now have a daily lockout rather than a weekly one, with the change affecting both Dragonflight and Remix characters. When Mists of Pandaria Remix was announced, it was met positively by the World of Warcraft community, as the event is designed to let players have fun, collect cosmetics, and experience Mists of Pandaria content with their friends once again. It will run from May 16, 2024, until August 19, 2024.

The format of Mists of Pandaria Remix is simple: players can create a timerunning character locked to Mists of Pandaria content, where scaling will take them all the way to Level 70. On top of being able to experience the expansion and its raids, these timerunning characters will also be awarded the Cloak of Infinite Potential, and will be locked to a special version of Pandaria that they won't be able to leave.

Players can take a trip back in time with Timewalking, a content type that boasts rewards and an effective way to get transmogs and alts leveled up.

However, given that World of Warcraft raids traditionally have a weekly reset, Blizzard has decided to make an important concession for the duration of the Remix. The five Mists of Pandaria instanced raids will have a daily reset for both Dragonflight and Remix characters, making transmogrification farming a lot easier. Every raid boss drops a significant amount of Bronze, the primary currency introduced for Mists of Pandaria Remix, and a daily reset will allow players to accumulate Bronze at a much faster pace.

This change has received praise from World of Warcraft players on both the official forums and across social media platforms such as Reddit. Given that it will require nearly 400,000 bronze to collect all World of Warcraft mounts in the Mists of Pandaria Remix event, it could be argued that the concession was necessary. However, it also introduced an interesting possibility for Blizzard to consider.

Older instanced content in World of Warcraft has no value beyond collecting outfits, tier sets, and rare mounts. Whereas gating gear progression for the War Within expansion makes sense, placing raids from earlier expansions (such as Legion) onto a daily reset would make the process of collecting item appearances a lot more appealing. Given that Warbands in World of Warcraft will allow players to unlock transmogrification options even if they can't equip it on their current character, it implies that Blizzard is willing to listen to fans when it comes to making fashion and cosmetics more accessible.

An important change that will also come with the new World of Warcraft update concerns Battle for Azeroth raids, as Blizzard will also make certain boss encounters doable with smaller groups. The changes will become live on May 16, when Mists of Pandaria Remix opens its door to players.

DUNGEONS AND RAIDS

  • The lockouts for the following raids in Mists of Pandaria content now reset each day, for both Dragonflight and WoW Remix characters:
    • Normal and Heroic 10-player Mogu’shan Vaults, Heart of Fear, Terrace of Endless Spring, and Throne of Thunder.
    • Normal and Heroic 10-30 player Siege of Orgrimmar
    • Mythic 20-player Siege of Orgrimmar
    • Raid lockouts will return to a weekly cadence after WoW Remix closes.
  • Battle for Azeroth raid mechanics which block legacy encounter completion for small groups have been adjusted to be more permissive. Groups of five or fewer players should no longer be blocked by mechanics that cannot be completed at that raid size.
