One of the ways that World of Warcraft has remained entertaining to fans in the many years since its release is through its consistent expansion releases. These expansions add new story elements to World of Warcraft, along with new raids and a new area to explore. There are new classes and races that can be added, such as the Pandaran that was introduced in the Mists of Pandaria expansion, though these don't feature in every World of Warcraft DLC.

With the latest expansion Shadowlands winding down, having released its final raid and controversial cutscene, many fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the next World of Warcraft expansion. Due to a roadmap unveiled by Blizzard, many believed that they would be waiting until April 19 to see what the next steps for World of Warcraft would be. Due to a potential leak on Blizzard's website though, fans believe they may have already discovered some vital details on the upcoming content.

Within the source code on Blizzard's website shows strings under a "Dragonflight" folder. This may confirm the title for the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, alongside a heavy focus on dragons. Fans had anticipated that the new expansion would have a focus on the giant, fire-breathing reptiles, with another leak potentially showing off that players would be able to explore the Dragon Isles. There's even speculation that Galakrond could feature as the next major villain for World of Warcraft players to face.

However, this supposed leak could prove to be false. Considering the "Dragonflight" name was available in the public source code of Blizzard's website, and that the leak happened close to April 1, many believe that the accidental reveal by Blizzard was a purposeful joke. With how much the publisher has already hinted to dragons being the focus of the next World of Warcraft expansion though, it seems strange for this to be an elaborate and belated April Fool's joke.

So far, there's been no official confirmation on whether the leaked title for World of Warcraft's upcoming expansion is legitimate or not. It seems then that fans will have to wait until April 19 to find out whether the next expansion will be called "Dragonflight" or something else entirely. Leaks have come from Blizzard's website before though, such as the appearance of Bolvar prior to the official announcement of the Shadowlands DLC. At this point, to claim the leak as an April Fool's joke would seem odd, though it is also possible that the "Dragonflight" name is just a placeholder for the official expansion title.
