World of Warcraft just announced a series of Twitch Drops would be coming alongside Dragonflight’s Pre-Patch and release over the next couple of months. The Twitch Drops were mentioned as an offhand footnote when World of Warcraft revealed the schedule for its Pre-Patch.

There are three different Twitch Drops coming to World of Warcraft in the near future. The first will take place on November 15, during the second phase of the Dragonflight Pre-Patch, when the Primal Storms event will be live and the Dracthyr will be available. The second coincides with Dragonflight’s launch on November 28, and the third with the Vault of the Incarnates raid opening on December 13.

At press time, World of Warcraft has not revealed what the rewards for these Twitch Drops will be. They will most likely be cosmetic items, such as minions or mounts. As the first Twitch Drop is in less than a month, players can expect to hear about what the rewards are, and which streams to watch to earn them, in the next few weeks.

World of Warcraft is not the only Blizzard IP participating in Twitch Drops. Overwatch 2 is currently running a Twitch Drop campaign to earn cosmetics for Kiriko, and Hearthstone has done so periodically to earn free packs during set releases and tournaments. World of Warcraft also recently concluded a cosmetics giveaway via Amazon Prime over the summer, where it gave out several crown cosmetics.

Few players will say no to free swag from Twitch, and World of Warcraft players are no exception. Earning Twitch Drops is as simple as linking one’s Twitch and Battle.net accounts, and watching a few hours of certain streams on Twitch. Players are excited to see what sorts of free things they can get for their World of Warcraft characters, and are even more hyped for the upcoming expansion than they already were.

The launch of World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is right around the corner. Dragonflight has received general praise from beta testing, and hopes are currently high for the expansion. With mixed reviews for both Battle for Azeroth and Shadowlands, many fans consider Dragonflight to be its most important expansion yet. Despite its hopeful outlook, some fans have concerns the new World of Warcraft expansion won’t be ready for its launch. While it is possible the expansion could receive a last-minute delay like Shadowlands did, World of Warcraft seems intent on releasing a complete, bug-free expansion on November 28.

World of Warcraft is available now for PC. Dragonflight launches on November 28.
