World of Warcraft: Dragonflight introduces four major factions, which have their own very unique storylines, activities, and rewards to complete. One faction that embodies the spirit of exploration within the MMORPG is the Dragonscale Expedition, which will see players climb mountains, go on field photography assignments and even discover Titan relics.

The Dragon Isles is an untouched continent perfect for those seeking knowledge of the ancient land and the secrets it may hold. Teaming up with the Dragonscale Expedition will allow players to discover forgotten treasures, unlock unique dragonriding customizations and collect profession recipes that will enable the player to create items that will help in gathering and crafting professions.

8 Unique Faction Activities

The Dragonscale Expedition's activities are quite unique, offering players several quests to take part in, including rock climbing and field photography minigames. At Renown level 6, players will unlock the climbing world quests after completing the climbing-themed questline given to the character by the little explorer-in-training, Doc Nanners.

At Renown level 8, cataloging quests unlock, which allow characters to sail on a raft while taking photographs of the unique wildlife that has made the Dragon Isles their home. No doubt inspired by Pokemon Snap, players are graded on the quality of the shot and the rarity of the subject while following a predetermined route. The Expedition Supply Kit, also unlocked at Renown level 6, will offer several upgrades to the activities to make things a little easier.

7 Expand On The Story Of The Dragonscale Expedition

At Renown level 14, the 'A Mystery, Sealed' questline opens up, which will award players with more reputation. At level 16, players will be able to access the Magic-Bound Chest, which includes Renown Tokens, and finally, at Renown level 24, the' In the Halls of Titans' questline is unlocked, once again showering the player with reputation.

What is probably the holy grail for the likes of the Explorer's League, The Dragonscale Expedition questlines will lead players to a mystery involving a sealed door, Titan secrets, and the discovery of powerful magical stones. Those who want to follow in the footsteps of the Bronzebeard brothers will want to stick with the Dragonscale Expedition.

6 Professions That Help Professions

There are 27 profession recipes a player can achieve through leveling their Renown with the Dragonscale Expedition. Crafters looking to make money from their trade will want to add several of these items to their catalog of wares, as not every crafter will be able to offer them, especially if they are focusing on other factions.

There are also several recipes that create items helpful to professions, such as the Bottomless Mireslush Ore Satchel, which give miners +72 Finesse and +6 Mining Skill, The Spring-Loaded Khaz'gorite Fabric Cutters, which provides +10 Tailoring skill, the Master's Wildercloth Fishing Cap and Chef's Hat, which also grant skill increases, and banners for herbology and geology (mining) to help increase the effectiveness of gathering, as well as provide damage buffs against particular elemental types.

5 It's All About The Ducks

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight has gone a little crazy when it comes to ducks. Not only are there several kinds now roaming the Dragon Isles, but players can get their hands on adorable battle pets and toys to take with them on their adventure.

One of the duck battle pets can be created by Engineers at renowned level 21 after learning the Quack-E schematic. Like many of the previous mecha pets that have come over the years, Quack-E is robotic in appearance and has a move set that reflects this. The duck toy, which allows a character to take a little nap, is learned from the Duck-Stuffed Duck Lovie pattern, which is obtained after a Tailor raises their Renown level to 21 with the Dragonscale Expedition. It's worth mentioning that two more non-related battle pets will be available at Renown level 11, which are the Gray Marmoni and the Black Skitterbug.

4 Faster Ways To Travel

Those who level their Dragonscale Expedition Renown level to 7 will unlock waygates at a variety of ruins located in the Dragon Isles. These will allow players to teleport to them, cutting out a significant amount of flying time. There are eight Ancient Waygates in total, which will cover the entirety of the Dragon Isles but will take Renown level 23 to complete them all.

Having this mode of transport will allow players to reach World Quest areas much easier, as well as help them move between the factions they are raising their Renown with. The locations that players can unlock are the Cobalt Assembly, Rubyscale Outpost, Eon's Fringe, Rusza'thar Reach, Algeth'era, Shady Sanctuary, Vakthros, and the Skytop Observatory.

3 Unique Drake Customizations

Like the other factions in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, there are several unique drake customizations that are exclusive to the Dragonscale Expedition Faction. These include the Spined Brow, Maned Crest, and Spiked Jaw options for the Renewed Proto-Drake, which become available at Renown level 9.

Later, at Renown level 15, players will also unlock the Spiked Club Tail, Swept Horns, and Harrier Pattern for their Proto-Drake. At Renown level 22, the focus moves on the other drakes, unlocking the Red Scales customization for all of them. This is the only way to unlock the red color options for the other drakes, which can result in some interesting appearance combinations.

2 Unique Transmogs

If a character is going to join the explorers of the Dragonscale Expedition, they should look like one too. There are a number of unique transmog options available to players, including the Mallet, Punch, Chisel, and Trowel weapons, which unlock at Renown level 3. Several cloaks become available at Renown level 4, while more tool-themed weapon cosmetics follow at level 7, including the Expedition Excavator pickaxe.

The full armor transmogs offer one outfit for each armor type, which becomes available at level 14. These have a more classic aesthetic, with green, bronze, and silver being the primary color palette.

1 Exclusive Mounts

At Renown level 25, players can purchase the exclusive Tamed Skitterfly, and Azure Skitterfly mounts. Both pets will cost 750 Dragon Isle Supplies, five Iridescent Plumes, and 20 Contoured Fowlfeathers, and can be purchased from Granpap Whiskers in The Waking Shore.

While both pets share the same model, the Azure Skitterfly is a lighter color variation. Players will also get the opportunity to loot the Verdant Skitterfly, which is a green variation, from the Expedition Scout's Packs scattered all around the Waking Shores. These are flying mounts, but despite being awarded through a Dragonflight faction, they can still only be used as ground mounts while in the Dragon Isles.
