BlizzCon 2023 Is Abandoning a World of Warcraft Staple

World of Warcraft is leaving behind a BlizzCon staple this year, breaking a convention tradition for the first time in history.

World of Warcraft recently shared a blog post detailing some of the sights and secrets to be found within the Emerald Dream zone. It goes into the lore of the Dream and the World Tree growing within it, showcases some major landmarks, and introduces some of the denizens that will appear, both friend and foe. To top it off, the post featured a short video showcasing the sights and sounds of the new area, including an excerpt from update’s stellar soundtrack.

Here are a few of the landmarks players can expect to encounter in the Emerald Dream in World of Warcraft Patch 10.2, Guardians of the Dream:

  • Verdant groves of life that sprawl beneath Amirdrassil, the new World Tree being nurtured within the Emerald Dream.
  • Swaths of burned forests ravaged by the elemental fire of Fyrakk and his new allies, the Djaradin and Druids of the Flame.
  • The Eye of Ysera, an ancient seat of power from which the Green Dragonflight protects Azeroth and the Dream.

Throughout the Emerald Dream in the new World of Warcraft patch, players will have plenty of friendly beings to help them face Fyrakk and his forces. Many Wild Gods, powerful nature spirits tied to the dream, will aid them along the way, as will many Keepers of the Grove and Dryads–children of the Wild God Cenarius. These beings, plus many Druids and Green Dragons in the zone, are associated with the Dream Wardens, a new Renown faction for players to help. By earning reputation with this faction, players can earn nature-themed transmogs, Dragonriding manuscripts, and more.

The Emerald Dream is also host to a menagerie of magnificent critters and beasts players can collect as pets, companions, and mounts. Druids can become many of these new World of Warcraft creatures in the new update as well, so fans of the class will not want to miss out on what Patch 10.2 has to offer.
