World of Warcraft: Dragonflight has thus far enjoyed two new raids, each jammed full of elemental and draconic foes. However, players may have noticed that one particular bad guy has yet to feature in any boss encounter, be it within a raid, dungeon, or the open world. Fyrakk the Flame Incarnate has been running rampant for months. But the question remains as to when exactly his schemes in World of Warcraft will come to an end.

In Dragonflight’s first raid tier, Vault of the Incarnates, the final boss players face is Raszageth, the Storm Incarnate. This ancient proto-drake was one of the four Primal Incarnates, and with her dying breath, she ensured her brethren were released into the world. The three remaining Incarnates, including Fyrakk, have wrought havoc across the Dragon Isles ever since.

World of Warcraft's Incarnate of Flame Has Yet to Fight Against Players

World of Warcraft Fyrakk

Fyrakk the Blazing has been the most prescient antagonist for some time, even though players have not yet had any opportunity to fight him. The fiery proto-drake served a profound influence in opening up the new zone of Zaralek Caverns, as in order to enter this subterranean area, players must follow the trail of his destructive power. The Flame Incarnate also featured heavily in the Embers of Neltharion story but was nowhere to be seen in that patch’s penultimate raid, Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible.

It is unusual for an antagonist like Fyrakk to last this long, given the proto-drake’s lack of world-ending importance. Fyrakk was established early on as the most expendable Incarnate, invested only in destruction and not the bigger plan his siblings are working towards. Vyranoth and Iridikron have intentionally turned Fyrakk into an unstable, Shadowflame-infused weapon to distract Azeroth’s heroes, so it’s odd that this apparently disposable Incarnate has not been disposed of.

That being said, players are very familiar with the power Fyrakk commands. He spent time soaking up the corrupt power of Shadowflame within Zaralek, and in his current empowered state, he can essentially erase any mortals who get close. A world event that arrived alongside the Zaralek Caverns zone is one where players must fight against the Primalists in one of the two Suffusion camps on the Dragon Isles.

Once players do enough damage to the Primalists’ operations, Fyrakk himself will descend from on high to ignite the skies above that entire zone. Any unwary player caught in the midst of his furious descent will be killed in seconds, a mechanic not unlike Deathwing’s sudden murder sprees in Cataclysm. However, after this, players merely end up fighting one of Fyrakk’s minions, not the Incarnate himself, who remains untouchable.

This decision on the game’s part to withhold Fyrakk brings into question where exactly he will feature as a boss. There are only so many raids and encounters that can be fit into any expansion, and Fyrakk has been built up as the kind of baddie who deserves to be a final boss. With this considered, it doesn’t leave much space for Vyranoth and Iridikron to also be final bosses, let alone the rumored true final boss for Dragonflight, Galakrond.

If only one of the remaining Primal Incarnates ends up being a final boss, it might sour the current appreciation players have for these new characters. They don’t necessarily have the hype that some long-time antagonists like Sylvanas Windrunner or N’Zoth do, but it would be a real shame to see such formidable foes lose their immense potential. Another possible solution would be to combine multiple Primal Incarnates into a single boss fight, but this presents a number of its own challenges.

Although it remains unclear as to how World of Warcraft plans to give these malicious proto-drakes their proper due, one thing is clear. Fyrakk needs to have an epic boss fight to round off all the havoc and death he’s caused thus far. The Flame Incarnate also has the most personality out of all his siblings, so his end should definitely utilize his famously sadistic, sassy demeanor. However, this molten baddie ends up, players can only hope it’ll be worthy of the Fyrakk they’ve come to know and love.
