World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, like all the game’s other expansions, brought with it a myriad of awesome mounts for players to earn and collect. Some of them require intense skill, while many are obtained by sheer dedication. Others still are simply down to dumb luck.

On top of this, Dragonflight can be considered the most important expansion World of Warcraft mounts have ever had, given the introduction of Dragonriding. This feature added more realistic flight mechanics to the way players travel on their winged mounts, allowing for high-speed maneuvers and an overall engaging experience. Because this mechanic is soon going to be extended to non-dragon mounts, it makes mount collecting all the more exciting.

Highland Drake: Embodiment of the Hellforged

The Highland Drake is by far the most popular of the original Dragonriding mounts. It is fully customizable, and players can collect certain appearances for this dragon, changing its look completely to suit the player’s taste. The best customization option for this mount, however, is the Elementium Drake. This high-resolution skin makes the drake look exactly like the first boss in Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible. Kazzara is a dragon tormented by the agony of having Elementium, an extremely volatile metal, fused to her body. Hopefully, it’s painless for the mount version, but right now, it’s the coolest-looking dragon in the skies.

Gooey Snailemental

With the opening of the Dragon Isles zone, the Forbidden Reach, players could participate in evolved Primal Storms. Doing so enough times will allow the player to assemble a mount that looks like the other magma snails in the game, aside from being a vibrant blue. There are the yellow and orange variants, but having a snail mount made from neon blue lava is a whole new level of snazzy. Luckily, this gastropod isn’t as slow as it looks and can keep up with any other ground mount.

Inferno Armoredon

Only the most skilled World of Warcraft players can get their hands on the Inferno Armoredon. This fiery dragon-rhino is a massive, hulking beast with some impressive particle effects, and is a reward for the Keystone Master achievement for Dragonflight’s Season 2. This feat of skill and dedication requires a player to obtain a Mythic+ score of 2000, so getting this mount in the space of just a few months is truly a flex.

Divine Kiss of Ohn'ahra

This mount is unique in Dragonflight so far. There are just a handful of mounts in the entire game that actually change the player into the mount, druid-style. The Divine Kiss of Ohn’ahra is a reward for bringing certain materials to the eponymous Wild God of the Dragon Isles’ centaur. Summoning this mount allows the player to transform into a smaller lookalike of the Wild God and take to the sky on their own two wings.

Reins of the Quantum Courser

In Dragonflight’s newest dungeon, Dawn of the Infinites, a mount unlike any other drops from the final boss. As its name suggests, the Reins of the Quantum Courser is a time-traveling mount that allows players to collect mounts from the past. When used, the Quantum Courser will teach a player how to summon one of the following mounts, provided they don’t already know it.

  • Deathcharger's Reins
  • Reins of the Raven Lord
  • Swift White Hawkstrider
  • Reins of the Blue Proto-Drake
  • Reins of the Drake of the North Wind
  • Armored Razzashi Raptor
  • Underrot Crawg Harness
  • Mechagon Peacekeeper
  • Marrowfang's Reins
  • Swift Zulian Panther
  • Mummified Raptor Skull
  • Reins of the Vitreous Stone Drake
  • Cartel Master's Gearglider
  • Midnight's Eternal Reins
  • Reins of the Infinite Timereaver
  • Sharkbait's Favorite Crackers

Because of this previously unheard-of mechanic, the Quantum Courser is truly a special idea and a way to get those mounts that might have been missed in the past. In fact, this expansion is brimming with fantastically fancy mounts to find, both old and brand new. Dragonflight truly is a treasure trove for World of Warcraft's mount collectors, and there are sure to be many more on the way.
