World of Warcraft has officially begun its second crossover event with Diablo 4. During the event, World of Warcraft players can benefit from a massive boost to experience and reputation gains.

Blizzard is holding a crossover event between World of Warcraft and Diablo 4 to celebrate the launch of the former. The first phase of the collaboration, A Greedy Emissary, allowed players to hunt down Treasure Goblins to earn Diablo 4-inspired cosmetics in World of Warcraft.

Unfortunately, the Treasure Goblins have returned to Sanctuary, but they left behind one last gift for World of Warcraft players. A strange wind has blown in from Sanctuary, bringing inspiration and vigor to the heroes of Azeroth. From now until July 11, all World of Warcraft characters will gain 50% more experience all the way through level 70 with the Winds of Sanctuary buff. Additionally, players will gain 50% more reputation with all Dragonflight Renown factions except the new Loamm Niffen from Embers of Neltharion.

The Winds of Sanctuary buff is similar to the Winds of Wisdom retail World of Warcraft has given out in the past, or the Joyous Journeys buff that is active in Wrath of the Lich King Classic until Call of the Crusade launches on June 20. These events are always great for players looking to level alts, but the Winds of Sanctuary is also a good opportunity for them to max out their Renown with the four major factions of Dragonflight if they have not done so yet already.

Players are often excited about experience buffs, but the Winds of Sanctuary is one of the best ones World of Warcraft has ever done. Though plenty of players wish the Loamm Niffen were included in the event, the generous reputation boost will help them catch up Renown with alts all the same. With many players having completed the campaign in Diablo 4, this event could be what was needed to get people back in Azeroth.

The Winds of Sanctuary end date may also be a huge hint for World of Warcraft’s future. Patch 10.1.5, Fractures in Time, is currently in development and is expected to release this summer. Considering this event ends on July 11, it is possible World of Warcraft could be planning to release Patch 10.1.5 a week or two after–or maybe even the same day. Players won’t know for sure when the next Dragonflight update is coming until an official release date is shared, but the next World of Warcraft patch is definitely closer than many might think.

World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
