Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is releasing at 12 am (midnight) PST on Friday, March 3rd. East Coast players may be in store for a late night as the game launches at 3 am EST the same day, and global players will also have to adjust their clocks to PST accordingly.

Does Wo Long Have Co-op Multiplayer?

Wo Long Fallen Dynasty Combat Hero

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty does have access to multiplayer. Battle flags are a unique mechanic of the game that act as markers of progress for the journey (think bonfires or sites of grace if familiar with Dark Souls or Elden Ring). At these flags, players can rest and opt to play cooperatively with friends via online play. Currently, the game allows up to two additional players for co-op. Higher-level players will be balanced in equipment and stats if the host is a lower level than them.

Is There PVP?

In addition to cooperative play, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty also hosts a PVP option in which players can compete against one another. Similar to other soulslike experiences, opting to Invade offers players a chance to test their skills in head-to-head online play.

Is There Crossplay?

As of writing, there is no crossplay option for friends wanting to play Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty together on different platforms. There is, however, cross-gen, meaning PS4 players can play with PS5 players, and Xbox One players can play with Xbox Series X/S players.

Is Wo Long Open World?

With the recent success of Elden Ring, it is only natural that Soulslike fans would want to know if Wo Long is an open-world game. While areas in Wo Long are relatively spacious and open, the game is linear and does not ascribe to the label of being open world. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is separated out into levels with different companions, bosses, and story progression tied to each of them.

Is Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Hard?

Wo Long Fallen Dynasty Wizardry Spell Unseeable Form

The simple answer is yes. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty takes inspiration from the Souls genre, which is notable for specific battle mechanics, respawning enemies, and of course, intense difficulty.

The more complicated answer regarding Wo Long’s difficulty is that it really depends on the style of the player. While Wo Long does not (as of writing) feature a difficulty selection (similar to other Soulslike games), that does not mean its difficulty is inherently impossible.

In speaking with other Soulslike fans, Wo Long falls towards the middle of the spectrum of the most difficult experience within the genre. However, it should be expected that scouring for resources and intensely studying battle mechanics is a requirement to succeed.

Does the Demo Carry Over?

For players who have jumped into the demo for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, progress will carry over into the main game. For players who completed the first chapter of the demo, a reward will be offered once the full game launches.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty launches on March 3 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
