Using the best jewelry in each piece dramatically transforms the capabilities players have in combat.
By syncing up gems, gamers in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty can add over 10% damage, reduce damage taken by over 10%, double their chances of finding rare items, and increase their experience gain by 50% or more. Ultimately, embedding these pieces is what is going to separate the true experts from the casuals.
Embedding Basics
- Talk to Zhu Xia.
- Choose 'Embedment.'
- Select a piece of gear.
- Choose 'Choose Embedding Slot.'
- Extract an unwanted jewelry piece.
- Select the now-opened slot.
- Choose a new piece of jewelry.
Players that coordinate all their gear can potentially get monstrous amounts of Qi, leveling to the top in a hurry. Or they can shore up defenses, create better spell efficiency, and more. Different builds have different demands, simply choose a few bonuses that work for the build and put them on the gear.
Note that the number of these jewelry slots is dictated by the number of stars the piece has. Five-star pieces have five slots, four-star pieces have four, and so on. Also, even if a ranged or melee weapon isn't used, players will still benefit from their embedment bonuses, so be sure to embed all these pieces.

Learning new jewelry buffs is as simple as deconstructing a piece of equipment that has the particular gem needed on it. Look off to the right side and it will note what the player receives by salvaging the piece.
These new gems might not be flashy, but they are every bit as important to progression as unlocking and using Divine Beasts. When a specific statistic is stacked with gems, prepare to see immediate results.

Permanent jewels, unlike temporary ones, have a fully colored marker next to them. Slots that can be moved only have the left half colored in. Set bonuses will also take up a slot, which will make expert gamers debate whether it's better to customize other pieces or to use a set. After hitting the max level, tinkering with gear is what it's all about, so expect these kinds of debates.
These items and pieces can't be altered. Whatever benefit they give is permanent and players would need a completely new piece of gear to get rid of the stats. In the case of armor and weapons, it may be realistic to farm up items with good boosts. For accessories, even two or three benefits to the build should be considered lucky.
