Witchy Life Story tasks players with assisting a small town by crafting various potions, incenses, charms, and oils using a variety of ingredients. This guide will cover some useful tips and tricks for players starting out in the game.

Witchy Life Story is a casual witchcraft simulation game with visual novel-esque gameplay developed and published by Sundew Studios. The game stars a somewhat rebellious witch in training who is sent to a small town by their grandmother and tasked with ensuring the harvest festival is a success. If they succeed, they'll have proven themselves and be able to complete their training. To this end, the game tasks players with creating a variety of magical aides for the townsfolk based on orders received at the beginning of each day while also checking up on the people they assisted on the previous day to ensure things went well.

Ramsey's Advice

Players who have lost track of whether they've completed all the orders for the day and checked up on everyone properly can check in with their trusty Raven familiar "Ramsey."

Ramsey can be found on their perch near the workstation, where players create their various magical potions and charms, and clicking on them allows players to ask about their progress. This will quickly inform players if they've completed all their daily tasks, alleviating the stress of wondering if they forgot something.

Potion Making 101

When making potions in Witchy Life Story, it can be easy to lose track of the requirements for a given brew. Fortunately, players can pin an order to the bottom of the screen by clicking on it in the Orders tab of their Grimoire. Even better, players can click on the drawers to access ingredients and click on the potion bottle/charm sachet/etc without even closing the Grimoire, making it relatively easy to brew potions while having the recipe and ingredient pages viewable to double-check properties.

Players can easily check their work as they go by keeping the Grimoire open while selecting ingredients and cycling to the correct container for the resultant creation.

Fertilizer and Gardening

Players should make sure to harvest all ingredients in the garden each day, water the plants, and pluck weeds. This ensures a steady supply of ingredients and helps prevent players from running low on essentials when needed. Ingredients don't spoil and will regrow within a day (or two in the case of a couple of ingredients), so there's no reason to leave plants unharvested.

In the event players run out of an essential ingredient, fertilizer is the solution. Applying fertilizer to a harvested and watered plant will immediately allow it to be harvested again, allowing players to reproduce an ingredient they've run low on rapidly.

Players get around three pieces of fertilizer each day by converting plucked weeds using the compost bin on the right-hand side of the garden, so taking the time to compost each day is well worth the extra trouble.

The Importance of Checkups

Checking up on the people who players helped on a previous day might initially seem like an unimportant piece of extra busy work, but it serves a vital purpose. Dropping in on townsfolk allows players to learn more about them, trigger some very entertaining additional dialog and interactions, and will enable players to gather vital information for their Grimoire. After a checkup, players will have a sudden burst of intuition about that character and their connection to a specific color or symbol, which will be automatically noted in the Grimoire.

These will eventually be used to allow players to prepare powerful tailor-made magic that will assist that character. Knowing all the associated information to produce this magic correctly will be vital.
