Today marks the first WitcherCon, an online convention dedicated to all things The Witcher. The event was put together by Netflix in partnership with CD Projekt Red and is intended for fans of the books, games, television shows, and all other Witcher media. To help persuade some Witcher fans to tune in, CD Projekt Red and the GOG gaming storefront are offering a variety of "goodie bag" prizes, just like if WitcherCon was being held in person.

One of the biggest freebies CD Projekt Red calls attention to is a free copy of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition. All that's necessary to pick up the free game is to download the GOG Galaxy PC app. What CD Projekt Red doesn't mention is that The Witcher: Enhanced Edition has been free to everyone who downloads GOG Galaxy since December 4, 2020. There's no harm in calling attention to it for WitcherCon, though.

As for WitcherCon exclusive goodies, at 10:00 AM PT/1:00 PM ET a special Witcher-Universe Giveaway will begin. This giveaway will "start" with a Witcher-themed goodie pack. Items in the pack include assorted digital content. For example, there are four GWENT items, two digital Witcher comics, and a download for a The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt concert video. It's unclear if everyone will be able to get this pack or if it's a random prize.

Additionally, GOG will be heavily discounting all of its games from The Witcher franchise as part of the WitcherCon Event. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is discounted 80% down to $9.99, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition is 85% off at $2.99, and while the original Witcher game is free on GOG Galaxy, those who'd rather pay for it can get it for 85% off at $1.49 if they want. Both The Witcher Adventure Game and Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales are discounted, too, priced at $1.49 and $5.99 respectively.

Both the Witcher digital prize pack and the GOG discounts will be available not just through WitcherCon, but through the weekend. The giveaways will end on July 12 at 10:00 AM PT/1:00 PM ET. Since The Witcher: Enhanced Edition giveaway is just part of the GOG Galaxy platform, it won't be ending.

As for what else Witcher fans can expect from WitcherCon, they'll just have to watch and find out. The schedule features a Q&A regarding Netflix's second season of The Witcher show, said to feature plenty of "surprise reveals," an introduction to GWENT, a panel with CD Projekt Red developers regarding the Witcher games, and a final interview with Henry Cavill with one or two more surprises. There's plenty more in-between, as well as a second stream with even more content. It all starts at 10:00 AM PT/1:00 PM ET.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions planned for 2021.
