Season 1 of The Witcher attracted fans with its well-done fantasy world and even better characters. Of course, the books and games have their fans as well. But the show also appeals to those not entirely familiar with the world of The Continent. Part of that appeal is in the well-written characters, particularly the female characters such as Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra) and Cirilla, known as Ciri, of Cintra (Freya Allan).

Characters like Yennefer and Ciri are not the only well-written female characters. Secondary characters such as Ciri's mother Pavetta and grandmother Queen Calanthe are equally well-done. Even antagonists like Renfri are done well. The Witcher Season 2 has the possibility of doing even better with its female characters than season 1. And that's amazing.  The Witcher's fans are lucky.

After the often tragic mess that was Game of Thrones, it's nice to see a fantasy world where women are treated with respect. That doesn't guarantee, of course, that they'll all get happy endings. But at least the journey will be worth it. And The Witcher Season 2 promises to take Yennefer and Ciri on intriguing journeys. There are also going to be new female characters introduced in The Witcher Season 2. If it's anything like Season 1, these female characters will be just as well-developed as the main characters. These characters will include Nenneke, a priestess at the temple of Melitele. She is often a voice of reason for Geralt. It would be interesting to see Ciri meet her, though of course fans will have to wait for The Witcher Season 2 to see if she does.

Geralt and Ciri in the Witcher- The Witcher Season 2

What's certain is that characters like Nenneke and sorceress Philippa Eilhart will add more powerful women to the cast. And that's great. Ciri's story also seems to be taking center stage in The Witcher Season 2. The next season could make Ciri an even more compelling character. Yennefer, too, is bound to improve. She will likely be on her own for a while and that will make her survival even more intriguing. Yennefer's independence will likely serve her well. And it'll be a treat for fans. While newer female characters will likely keep fans on their toes. The world of The Witcher Season 2 will probably be anything but predictable.

Ciri, throughout season 1, becomes stronger and more able to exist independently. Yennefer rises to power and then leaves it behind. She wants to get her fertility back since she feels it was taken from her. Though she did freely choose to be a mage, and therefore to become sterile, she did not realize at the time what she was giving up. Yennefer is a character that many fans can likely relate to. Ciri, too, is very relevant for fans. She grows up pampered and safe but is then thrust into a difficult world. The Witcher Season 2 will expand on both of these powerful women. Characters like Nenneke and Philippa will probably intrigue fans as well. And adding more well-written female characters can only improve the status of women in The Witcher.

The Witcher Season 2, therefore, has the potential to be even more empowering for its female characters than season 1. Fans will get to see Ciri and Yennefer grow. They will also meet Nenneke, Philippa, and more new female characters. The more well-written female characters a story has, the better. And so far the writers of The Witcher have a good track record. If they can keep writing compelling female characters for The Witcher Season 2, then the show will continue to empower its female characters. And women everywhere, as well. It certainly looks promising, based on what is known about The Witcher Season 2 so far. Fans are definitely in for a treat. The Witcher seems to keep getting better.

Of course, not every fan of The Witcher will agree. Some might not be interested. However, those who are will be looking forward to The Witcher Season 2 even more now. The Netflix series seems to be bound to please fans. Especially those who are a fan of well-written female characters. The Witcher Season 2 will likely improve on season 1 in so many ways. And one of those ways is that the female characters will be treated with the respect they deserve. This was also true in season 1 of The Witcher, but season 2 is bound to be even better. The Witcher Season 2 can build on what season 1 did well. And also improve upon it.

Sounds good! Though The Witcher Season 2 will likely not be perfect, it seems it will treat its female characters well. And that's definitely something to celebrate. While perhaps it shouldn't be as noteworthy as it is, it's definitely something special. Whether fans are looking forward to the female characters, or are indifferent, all fans love The Witcher. And that's the important thing. Yet the well-written characters, including the women, are part of the show's charm. And many fans likely enjoy these characters, including the female characters.
