In less than 10 days from now, Microsoft will release the Xbox Series X|S, marking the beginning of a new generation for Xbox players. For the past several days, the Xbox Series X has been sent out to the press, streamers, and online influencers. Most of those who already have the next-gen console are trying out Xbox One games to see just how fast they play on the Xbox Series X. As expected, videos of various Xbox One games that are running much faster on the Series X have since appeared online, including one featuring CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3.

A video posted by YouTuber rubhen925 showed just how fast The Witcher 3 runs on the Xbox Series X. Of course, this is not at all surprising given the beefier internals of the new console. Still, it appears that the difference between the old and the new Xbox console is bigger than what most people think. A GIF posted on Twitter of the video showed what happens when players fast travel in The Witcher 3.

Normally, once players select a travel point, the game shows a loading screen. But the Xbox Series X loads the game so fast that the loading screen doesn't even show up, and it immediately loads the environment almost like a glitch.

What's even more impressive is that this is the original Xbox One version of the game and not the enhanced Xbox Series X version currently in development. To the uninitiated, CD Projekt Red announced several months ago that The Witcher 3 would be receiving a brand new port for the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. This new iteration of the game will take advantage of all the new consoles' technological advancements, such as ray-tracing and faster loading. Luckily for players who already own The Witcher 3 on the PS4 and Xbox One, CD Projekt Red will offer the next-gen upgrades at no additional cost.

In the end, The Witcher 3 releasing on next-generation consoles is just what the game needs especially since it will probably take a while before CD Projekt Red releases another mainline Witcher game if any. The upcoming port also opens the game to a new generation of players, especially those interested in seeing what the games have to offer after watching the Netflix adaptation of The Witcher series.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions will release in 2021.
