The Witcher 3 has had new attention since the web-series of the franchise was released on Netflix. Fortunately for players who are replaying the game but looking for new content on top of what they missed previously, mods are constantly providing new features. One of the latest mods by Roenaxx gives players an "Exotic Arsenal" to find and wield in the game.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt continued CD Projekt Red's successful adaptations of The Witcher books by Andrzej Sapkowski, and was one of the most successful RPGs of this generation. The gameplay, story and expansive map all attracted critical acclaim and this was later built upon by downloadable content with new maps and quests. It is, therefore, unsurprising that players are now returning and starting The Witcher 3, particularly after the publicity given to the games by the web-series. With the amount of content in the game and from mods, The Witcher 3 has already had an impressive lifespan.
The new mod gives players 28 steel and 27 silver weapons to be bought, crafted, and looted throughout Velen, Novigrad and Skellige. The mod will not interfere with any other existing mod and there are very few downsides to the new content. The only notable issue is that the weapons will freeze in place when players die. All this means for players is that the weapons won't drop to the floor when they die. Yet for many, new weapons will be far more valuable than losing a small bit of immersion from The Witcher 3 experience.
There are plenty of blacksmiths to be found in The Witcher 3 and the new items may well provide players with a reason to track them down. The nature of the game means that there will be quests and coin to be found on these kinds of journeys. There are also numerous mods that have been available since the arrival of the game four years ago, and newcomers to the game have plenty to find and discover even after they complete the main story and the additional content available to download.
The new web-series has created new interest in the games and has led to some entertaining mods which use both adaptations. It will be interesting to see how long The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt can sustain players, after the recent wave of returning fans, before they call for new entries from CD Projekt Red. In the meantime, expansive mods like the "Exotic Arsenal" are bound to satisfy new and old players alike.
