The Easter egg is just one example of the new content added in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s next-gen update, which also saw CD Projekt Red’s hit action RPG receive an impressive graphical facelift bringing the game in line with current releases.

Originally scheduled to launch in 2021 before being delayed, the next-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt brings a variety of new content, graphical updates, and quality of life improvements to the game. Applauded by gamers and critics alike for its strong narrative and open-ended gameplay upon its original release in 2015, The Witcher 3 let players take control of Geralt of Rivia as the titular Witcher uncovers the truth about the terrifying warriors of the Wild Hunt. While the new graphical facelift for the 7-year-old game has helped breathe new life into the title, The Witcher 3’s poor performance on PC following the update has left some players frustrated.

In a new video posted to YouTube, user xLetalis reveals a secret hidden in the new content for The Witcher 3 that references the FF:06:B5 mystery that has confounded Cyberpunk 2077 players for years. Appearing on statues found throughout Night City, the string of numbers has left players perplexed as to its true meaning, so its sudden appearance on The Witcher 3’s Continent is sure to deepen the mystery. The video shows xLetalis travelling to the Destroyed Bastion and flipping a set of switches which summon an Earth Elemental that can be destroyed to reveal a portal. Traveling through the portal, players can make their way to a room containing several Specters and a mysterious carving on the wall bearing the same symbol found on Cyberpunk 2077's FF:06:B5 statues.

Fans of The Witcher 3 in the comments shared their excitement about the Easter egg linking together the two hit titles. Some commenters questioned if the presence of an uroboros serpent on the carving could hold some clues, while others noted that it looked similar to the symbol on Regis’ gloves. Pointing out an example of the impressive attention to detail in the game, one comment noted that Geralt’s dialogue in the room with the symbol changes depending on whether players chose Yennefer or Triss.

This mysterious Easter egg is sure to keep CD Projekt Red fans guessing as they try to decipher the link between the developer’s two biggest titles. Luckily for gamers who find deciphering this mystery a bit too stressful, the new ability to pet Geralt’s horse Roach as part of the update is the perfect way to unwind.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
