  • A talented artist has combined LEGO and The Witcher 3, gaining attention from both fans and the official Witcher Twitter account.
  • While LEGO collaborations with video games are common, an official LEGO version of The Witcher seems unlikely due to the franchise's darker themes.
  • Fans would love to see a LEGO/The Witcher 3 crossover, and the artist's work could easily pass as promotional art for a LEGO game.

A talented 3D artist recently blended the worlds of LEGO and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and even the developers behind the classic RPG have taken notice. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt earned widespread acclaim when it was first released in 2015 and is considered by many to be one of the greatest video games of all time. It continues the story of Geralt of Rivia, a gruff-but-noble mutant monster slayer searching for his adoptive daughter Ciri - who in turn is being targeted by the titular Wild Hunt.

While the previous two Witcher games are well-regarded in their own right, The Witcher 3’s blockbuster success helped propel the franchise into the mainstream eye - eventually leading to Netflix’s live-action The Witcher series and a host of upcoming spin-off games from developer CD Projekt Red. One of these projects is a full-on remake of the original Witcher game, which will allow players to re-experience Geralt’s earlier adventures with the upgrades and improvements that Wild Hunt brought to the series.

In the meantime, a LEGO-centric digital artist and Twitter user by the handle of BrickPanda recently shared a series of images depicting The Witcher 3 in the style of Traveller’s Tales’ line of LEGO games. Characters like Geralt, Ciri, and even their bard companion Dandelion are all rendered as cute minifigures as they reenact scenes from the game. Not only have fans shared their approval of these impressive 3D renderings, but the official Witcher Twitter account shared a few of them on its own page.

While LEGO and video games often click together in the form of games or crossover sets, an official collaboration based on The Witcher seems incredibly unlikely. While the Danish building toy franchise has produced sets based on adult properties for older collectors, most of its gaming crossovers have been for family-friendly titles like Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog. This hasn’t stopped fans from imagining LEGOfied versions of titles like Half-Life 2 and Assassin’s Creed, games that might not fit the mold of LEGO’s typical tie-ins.

A LEGO Witcher 3 game might not be among CD Projekt Red’s list of upcoming titles based on the works of Andrzej Sapkowski, but BrickPanda’s collection of LEGO images could easily pass for promotional art for one of Traveller’s Tales’ block-filled collect-a-thons. The fact that the official Witcher handle has noticed and shared their work on its own account makes things even more impressive, and many fans would gladly toss a coin (or stud) for an actual LEGO/The Witcher 3 crossover featuring minifigures of Geralt and Ciri doing what they do best.

The Witcher 3 is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
