A fan of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has recently posted a video to Reddit showing Kaer Morhen's vibrantly upgraded looks in the next-gen update for The Witcher 3. The update to The Witcher 3 is free, adding a few quality upgrades including new graphics, a quest line rooted in the events of the Netflix show, and a few valuable bug fixes. The update is mostly for next-gen consoles, though anyone on any platform will be able to gain access to the content for free. The update will be released on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 on December 14.

CD Projekt Red took inspiration from some of The Witcher 3's graphics mods for the update and has promised that there will be some surprises for fans once the update drops. Given the promised improvements to the game and the passion that fans have for the title, it should come as no surprise that gamers are already sharing early footage of the next-gen version of The Witcher.

Reddit user Alternative_Ad6071 recently posted a video to the Witcher subreddit that shows the home of the Witchers, Kaer Morhen, rendered with Wild Hunt's new graphics. The valley, the castle, and Geralt all look fantastic, and many fans have eagerly commented that the game has never looked better. Indeed, CD Projekt Red's improvements to The Witcher 3 have added ray-tracing and global lighting, as well as 4K textures, which has provided much clearer graphics to the title. Alternative_Ad6071's video also seems to demonstrate the upgraded shadows which are available for PC players.

In addition to commenting about the new graphics seen in the video on Reddit, fans have also been expressing a desire to complete new walkthroughs of The Witcher 3. Now that the graphics are changing, a new quest is being added, and many bugs are being fixed, it seems like the perfect time for gamers to jump back into the title and experience the differences. These changes, of course, will also be applied to the DLCs available for The Witcher 3, Blood & Wine and Heart of Stone.

The next-gen update for The Witcher 3 will be released at different times on different platforms. Many players, of course, are eagerly waiting for the new addition to the critically-acclaimed title. It seems likely that the update will be an unmitigated success, especially considering the great content that is already present within The Witcher 3. Fans can therefore look forward to the update and prepare to travel through The Continent as Geralt once again.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available now for PC, PS4, Swtich, and Xbox One with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions launching December 14.
