A next-gen update has arrived for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and, finally, a more convenient fast travel sign has been added to Crow's Perch. For as celebrated as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was, navigating the open world has remained a minor gripe since release, with associated difficulties often alleviated by the use of mods.Velen is effectively overseen by Philip Strenger, better known as the Bloody Baron, a self-appointed baron of the province. Regarded as one of the best-written characters that Geralt will come across in his journey to find Ciri, the Bloody Baron has been a constant source of frustration for players, but not for anything to do with the man himself. Crow's Perch, where Strenger and his allies reside, is a notorious location due to the surrounding geography. Previously, players would have to fast-travel to the Crow's Perch Signpost found just outside the castle and be forced to run for at least a minute across the bridge, around the encampments, and past the guards before reaching the Bloody Baron.RELATED: The Witcher 3 Becomes Best Open-World RPG Again, Beating Elden RingThere now exists a Castle Village Signpost to eliminate the tedium, transporting Geralt into the heart of Crow's Perch. If anyone is in doubt about the significance of this addition, it was noted by the official PlayStation UK Twitter account. Captioned "It's beautiful. Thank you @CDProjektRed," two screenshots highlighted the new Signpost on the map and in-game, a beautiful sight for all those that dedicated time to travel through the castle.

For this next-gen update, CD Projekt Red made the tireless efforts of modders official, implementing a select few into the game. The new Signpost is complemented by alterations made by the World Map Fixes mod, which corrected inconsistencies between the map and the game. As outlined in the description, the author came across moats, lakes, and paths that were simply missing from the abstraction and decided to "make The Witcher 3 more perfect than it already is."

Given that this is CD Projekt Red's most significant release since Cyberpunk 2077, players have been rightly inquisitive regarding the performance that can be expected. Some remember that before Night City, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released with many technical issues, particularly on PC. Reviews of the PS5 version seem promising, but do state that the game can struggle with consistency when played at the maximum quality possible. Thankfully, a performance mode offers a "solid 60 frames per second," while retaining "most of the significant enhancements."

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available now for PC, PS4, PS5 Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X..
