The latest trailer to join these ranks is for the upcoming anime Wind Breaker, which released a first-look video over the weekend profiling the main characters - and announcing its air date.

On Sunday, the official website for the anime Wind Breaker posted the new trailer. The website first appeared back in March of this year when the adaptation was first announced, but this is the first time that a video trailer has been posted. Wind Breaker is a story about high school delinquents to protect their town rather than destroy it. It follows newcomer Haruka Sakura, who is anything but weak. Rather than settle for simply protecting the town along with the rest of his classmates at Furin High School, Haruka wants to be the best. He will use his strength and power to reach the top, even if he has to fight his way all the way there.

Wind Breaker was created by Satoru Nii, who released it as a manga through Kodansha's magazine app Magazine Pocket. It began to be published in January 2021, and has been going strong since then. Wind Breaker gained enough popularity in Japanese that Kodansha has also been releasing it in English since spring 2022, as well as in physical print.

The new trailer highlights the six main characters in the Wind Breaker story, giving everyone a sneak peek at Kyо̄tarо̄ Sugishita, Hayato Suо̄, Hajime Umemiya, Tōma Hiragi, Akihiko Nirei, and of course, the leading character Haruka Sakura. The trailer goes through each character showing both art of them from the manga and the anime, and announces their voice actors with a quote from them playing in the background.

Everyone waiting anxiously for Wind Breaker got an extra surprise from Satoru Nii as well - he drew a special announcement image of Haruka holding a flag with the series' air date of April 2024! Wind Breaker is becoming one of the most anticipated anime of 2024 already, especially standing on the shoulders of the extremely popular series Tokyo Revengers, which has similar characters and tone. Considering the success of the manga, it will be no surprise if the Wind Breaker anime adaptation becomes of the most popular.
