Omega Force, a developer who has become well known for its Warriors style games in the Mosou genre, surprised many fans with the announcement of Wild Hearts back in September 2022. Partnering with Electronic Arts, Wild Hearts is Omega Force's first foray into the hunting genre, which is typically dominated by Capcom's popular Monster Hunter franchise. While fans ultimately are hunting oversized creatures and monsters to harvest materials, Omega Force added a few unique elements to help it stand out from its competitors.
Alongside 8 different weapons, players can utilize a mechanic known as Karakuri, which lets them build objects to help assist in combat or world traversal. While this includes simpler items like a torch or crates, players can combine things together to form larger machines like Bulwark, Elemental Lantern, and many more. Naturally, many of these can be unlocked through playing the game and earning different resources both in the world and through defeating the various monsters lurking.
As such, players can expect to be traversing various zones and battling monsters plenty of times in order to get the items needed to craft better gear. One such resource in Wild Hearts called Demon Rock, is a valuable mineral that can only be found in a particular location. Here's where players can get their hands on the resource.
Where to Find Demon Rock
For players looking to acquire the Demon Rock mineral, they'll first need to be at least within Chapter 3 as it grants access to Fuyufusagi Fort. From here, fast travel to the Cavern Camp which is in the southwest corner. From here, take the trail north called Snowy Otsuki Path, which leads to a fork in the road. Players should take the left path, called Chilling Lane. On this path, keep an eye our for a mining resource that looks like an orange stone surrounded by black rocks.
While Demon Rock can spawn all around this zone, players have found that taking the Chilling Lane path is the most consistent source of the mineral, offering about 2-3 per run.
Other Demon Rock Harvesting Tips
While that seems to be the most effective farming method, there is another way for players who want to be more hands off. After defeating Kemono monsters, players will start earning orbs that can be used to improve and unlock various Karakuri techniques. Players can eventually unlock a specific Dragon Karakuri called a Tsukumo Ore Shrine which can be deployed at a campsite or Dragon Pit. Doing so will automatically harvest the local ores in the area and after a short bit of time, five pieces of ore can be collected. While this will give players a mix of everything a zone has to offer, its a much easier way to automatically earn Demon Rock while going off to adventure and do other things.
