Just about every game these days has a fast-travel system, so it comes as no surprise that Wild Hearts would have a robust system for quickly getting to a desired destination. As a game primarily built around setting out to hunt in specific locations, having the ability to reach the hunting grounds in the shortest amount of time is essential. Unfortunately, Wild Hearts does very little to inform the player of its various systems for fast travel.

Wild Hearts features several means of travel, though most of them are locked behind progression. The best and most common means of fast travel, however, will be available to the player almost immediately after completing the game's tutorial.

How to Fast Travel in Wild Hearts

There are three basic means of fast-travel in Wild Hearts:

  • Hunting Tents
  • Campfire
  • City Fast-Travel

Hunting Tent Fast-Travel

The hunting tent mechanic will be the primary means of fast-travel through the world of Wild Hearts. When the player is first set loose, one of the first mechanics they will be introduced to is the dragon pit. These pools of energy act as wells that store the resources needed to create the tools and equipment the hunter will need to take on their missions. For example, there are several items that make WIld Hearts basic hunting camps, most notably the hunting tent and campfire. The dragon pit acts as a reserve of limited resources needed to craft these items in a specific area.

This is important to remember because every hunting tent the player sets up will act as a fast-travel point for the hunter. When opening the 'detailed map' tab in the main menu, players will see an icon for every tent they have put up. To use one from within the same region, players simply need to click on it and approve the travel.

To use a tent from other regions, such as Minato, players should open the 'main map' tab and look for the single tent icon in the region. When selecting it, the player will see the 'Free Hunt' window on the screen. This allows the player to choose the exact tent they wish to travel to.

Campire Fast-Travel

This whimsical means of fast travel will only become available once the player has unlocked Minato after completing Wild Hearts' first major story section. All the player needs to do is return to a campfire and warm themselves by the fire. While away from the city, they will have the option to return instantly. Though there are other ways to do it, there's no doubt it's a nice artistic touch.

City Fast-Travel

This option, once again, will only be available in certain areas of the game. Like campfire travel, players will first notice it when they unlock the city of Minato. While in the city, the player can open the 'detailed map' to find several curved arrow icons. These icons allow players to instantly travel to various points of interest within the city itself, no doubt saving several repetitive trips up and down the city's wooden steps.

Wild Hearts is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
