Since these big beasts can kill players within seconds, survival is tough. But of course, the bigger the monster, the greater the challenge, and the more satisfying it is to take them down.
Since taking down gigantic monsters like Kemono is a matter of life and death, a player should craft proper armor sets. Moreover, the player needs defense against incoming attacks. Luckily, Wild Hearts provides several armor sets to choose from, but which ones should players prioritize in this hunting game?
10 Hunters Garb Armor Set
This is a default armor available upon starting the game. Though this set may initially appear pretty cool, its stats have nothing much. A player should upgrade Hunters Garb as early as possible.
The set offers minimal defense. Dumping it after getting a much better armor set may be the better option since it has no skills.
9 Ocean Wave Armor Set
Ocean Wave Armor is available upon entering Natsukodachi Isle. This Armor is suitable for toppling Kemono with a sneak attack. The set may not have much defense, but it still compensates with 17% Stealth Art.
Since the Ocean Wave Armor only lasts for a short period in combat, a player needs to be agile with steps. Slowing movement reduces resistance against attacks as the armor can't hold out for long. Hachimaki, Sune-ate, Gloves, and Uwagi are some of the materials contained in this set.
8 Fresh Fern Armor Set
Creating Fresh Fern Armor Set upon entering into Wild Hearts is so important. It gives an improvement on 1-defense starting gear. Also, since it is crafted using materials that are available around the Giant Tree Camp, the Fresh Fern Armor is one of the cheapest sets. Once players first defeat Ragetail, they gain access to this set.
The Fresh Fern Armor Set contains Headgear, Gauntlets, Body Armor, Sune-ate, and Kusazuri. The Armor provides exceptional defense against attacks. Gauntlets and Sune-ate provides 13% Antitoxin, which works best against the Venomglider venom.
7 Young Samurai Armor Set
The Young Samurai Armor Set is a pretty good early-game set, thanks to its impressive stats. With it, a player has two choices: Kemono-path or Human-path. The Human-path is the right pick for those who love utilizing human tech to amp up their fight. The latter is better for those with knowledge of the working of Kemono.
This armor set significantly boosts the health of the player's waist and chest. Additionally, it offers defense bonuses. Notably, a player can increase Karakuri Threads, a vital tool in changing one's appearance, with Young Samurai Armor Set. Weaknesses to fire and earth elements are the only drawbacks to this Armor.
6 Brighteye Armor Set
This set offers excellent protection against Wind attributes, Nature, and Water. Since it is one of the superb end-game Water sets, it is vital in hunting Water-themed monsters such as Deathstalker. The set can be accessed upon reaching chapter 3.
The Brighteye Armor has an incredible Fatigue Recovery skill, drastically reducing idle time for fatigue-based attacks. On top of that, the Lunger Boost skill increases the percentage-based Lunge damage. Brighteye Armor consists of Archer Hakama, Archer Tekko, Strawhat, Body Armor, and Archer Tabi.

4 Bandit Armor Set
The Bandit Armor Set is one of the best mid-game sets, and is acquired by farming Cobalt Lavaback and Icetusk. The set provides corresponding Fire and Water resistance; thus, it is indispensable in fighting Kemono at later game levels.
Moreover, the set features defrosting frozen status, which works against Deathstalker monsters. More importantly, Kemono Path Upgrade from Bandit Armor gives resurrection talent that resists attacks when health stats drop. Bandit Armor Set is made up of Boots, Uwagi, Tekko, Mengu, and Loincloth.
3 Roaming Bard Armor Set
The Roaming Bard Armor Set is an early-game set, much like Young Samurai Set, and is crucial when upgrading the game to the mid-game level. This set provides more basic defense than Young Samurai Set. Also, it can withstand challenges, owing to the in-built contributors of Savage and Recovery Boost.
To craft it, a player must take down Spineglider and Dreadclaw. Unlocking a complete armor set allows the player to go after Lavaback. This set stands out thanks to its elemental resistance and outstanding defense. Roaming Bard Armor Set consists of Mengu, Tekko, Uwagi, Sune-ate, and Hakama,
2 The Draconic Armor Set
This is one of the best, most powerful armor sets to consider. To obtain it, a player must hunt down the Kemono in Chapter 5. Celestial Being and Celestial Dragon are the common Kemono whose parts are used to craft this set.
Draconic Armor Set contains neutral features in all elements, making it the most versatile armor set in Wild Hearts. Additionally, the set has a string of perks that can be very useful, particularly for Human-path or Kemono-Path players. The set contains Headwear, Back Guard, Gauntlets, Footwear, and Body Armor.
1 The Garuda Armor Set
The Garuda Armor Set can be unlocked in Chapter four of the game. A player must bring down and farm the gigantic Emberplume found on the Isle of Natsukodachi.
Garuda Armor Set is a Fire-themed armor aligned to Kemono. Such skill is excellent in fighting Kemono’s attacks and stopping them from escaping and roaring. This armor set contains Garuda Uwagi, Garuda Hakama, Garuda Hat, Garuda Boots, and Garuda Gauntlets.
