However, Insomniac has since opened the doors to this being a shared video game universe, as they confirmed that their upcoming Wolverine video game is set in the same continuity as Spider-Man.

While it looks like Wolverine is going to be set in a very different place and time from Spider-Man, there is no saying that the developers couldn't use this next game to start setting up more things for the future. A Deadpool appearance in Wolverine would make perfect sense from a character perspective, and it could start laying the groundwork for him to receive his own game at some point.
