The bosses in Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree are very difficult, and players may even need to rethink their build in order to take on this DLC. Players have a few options when dealing with incoming attacks, with the two major options being dodging, blocking and parrying for those skilled enough.

Blocking offers players a much wider window for error, and will often absorb the incoming damage as long as the player has enough Stamina to hold the shield up. Shadow Of The Erdtree gives players many more shield options for those who want to focus on blocking, with one being the Wolf Crest Shield; here's where to find it.

Where To Find The Wolf Crest Shield In Shadow Of The Erdtree

Players wanting to find the Wolf Crest Shield will need to head to Castle Ensis, one of the first locations to visit in Shadow Of The Erdtree. Once inside, follow the path to reach the Castle Ensis Checkpoint Site Of Grace. From here, head further into the castle across the bridge with four soldiers. Continuing down the path, watch out for the dog hiding in the bushes off to the right.

The next section of the castle will be the chapel, but stop short before entering the building. Coming out of the chapel will be Moonrithyll, Carian Knight. After defeating them, head to the back left corner of the courtyard away from the chapel. There will be a small staircase players can head down, leading to a small room with a chest holding the Wolf Crest Shield within.

Wolf Crest Shield Overview & Requirements

Requirements

Guarded Damage Negation

  • STR - 12
  • Physical - 100.0
  • Magic - 63.0
  • Fire - 38.0
  • Lightning - 42.0
  • Holy - 40.0
  • Guard Boost - 54

Being a shield used by Carian Knights, it has a higher focus on magic defense compared to its other elemental defenses. This weapon doesn't come with a base skill and is a blank slate to be equipped with any Ash of War that fits onto shields. Overall, this shield doesn't offer anything incredible that would make players want to switch to it right away other than its general magic defense for the current castle.

Within this section of the castle will be multiple enemies with magic attacks, along with the major boss at the end of the castle. While other shields have a higher magic damage negation, this shield offers a quick solution for those who don't want to look far for something they will only use for a short time.
