The Water-type Legendary Pokemon, Suicune, is one of the three Legendary Beasts alongside Fire-type Entei and Electric-type Raikou. It would also go on to be the mascot for Pokemon Crystal. While Suicune doesn't get special treatment in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's Indigo Disk DLC, its Paradox version, Walking Wake, appeared in Scarlet/Violet's base game long before the reveal of Raging Bolt (Raikou) and Gouging Fire (Entei).

If you've already cleared the story of Indigo Disk, you'll have a chance at catching all three Legendary Beasts in your Pokemon Scarlet/Violet playthrough. If you're lucky, Suicune might end up being the first one you unlock. Before you can start your search, you'll need to find Snacksworth.

How to Get Suicune Treat

Where to Find Snacksworth

Snacksworth hands out Legendary Pokemon Treats for every 10 Blueberry Quests (BBQ) you complete. He'll also give 12 Pokemon Treats for completing 12 Group BBQs. If you're playing Pokemon Scarlet, you have a chance of getting the Suicune Treat by showing Snacksworth that you've completed 10 BBQs. Unfortunately, the treat he gives out is randomized, so it's possible you may not get the Suicune Treat on the first try.

To find Snacksworth, you'll need to have caught Terapagos. After this, he'll appear at the Entrance of Blueberry Academy, standing in front of the row of seats on the right. He's dressed in a blue suit and is always smiling, so it shouldn't be too hard to miss him.

How to Get Suicune Treat in Pokemon Violet

If you're playing Pokemon Violet, you'll need to complete Group BBQs to get the Suicune Treat. Group BBQs are given out when you're in a Union Circle. You'll get one after completing three "red" BBQs in your group. A Group BBQ is marked by its gold background. You can checkyour BBQs by tappingright on the directional pad.

Where to Find Suicune in Scarlet & Violet

Casseroya Lake

If you get the Suicune Treat from Snacksworth, he'll give you a hint on where to find Suicune:

"Speaking of Suicune... I do recall this one particular encounter when I was a younger feller. See, I spotted Suicune once, while I was out enjoying that famous lake you've got in Paldea. We ended up having a little contest of skill, seeing which one of us could get all the way to shore fastest. We were off like a shot, but that Suicune—well, it runs right over the water , now don't it? Me being just your everyday human, the best I could manage was a nice, solid backstroke. It was a fine race, though. Mighty fine. Even if that Suicune did end up beating me by a whisker."

The "famous lake" in Paldea is none other than Casseroya Lake, and since you've already beaten the False Dragon Titan, you should be able to fly to the lake without any trouble. Warp to Casseroya Lake, then swim out towards the small island left of the middle island in Casseroya Lake.

Refer to the orange objective flag on the above image for the exact location.

Type: Water

Suicune has amazing base Defense and Special Defense. In this case, it works in your favor since your goal is to weaken it in battle to make it easier to catch. Before you confront Suicune, you will want to save your game. This way, you can restart your game if you accidentally knock it out.

This wild Suicune is level 70, and it has the following moves and weaknesses:

  • Thanks to Suicune's Water-typing, you can try and use Net Balls to catch it. Net Balls have a higher catch rate when used on Water-type or Bug-type Pokemon. Otherwise, stick to Ultra Balls and Timer Balls.
  • Suicune's base Special Attack is 90, but if it follows up Rain Dance with Surf, then you might be in trouble. Bring a Pokemon that has sturdy Special Defense so that it can withstand Suicune's attacking moves.
  • Mirror Coat is the 'special' counterpart to the appropriately-named 'physical' move Counter. If you use a special type move and Suicune uses Mirror Coat for that same turn, it will strike back at you with twice the power.
