6 The Headless Horseman
Random Spawn Between 10 PM and 4 PM
The Headless Horseman is a classic story, and entirely memorable, which has popped up in multiple games as an easter egg. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is the short story by Washington Irving in which this character first popped up, and the character appears in Skyrim, riding aimlessly in the world, and most notably, a warrior without a head.
The Headless Horseman is without a head and exists as a ghostly aspiration. Whilst there isn’t much that the Headless Horseman says, their action speaks for itself, and it’s certainly a weird and creepy encounter that players can find.
5 A Failed Leap Of Faith
Bard’s Leap Summit
If players head to Bard’s Leap Summit, they can find a large waterfall, and test their bravery as they embark on a journey to plummet to the depths. Players will survive the fall, and be met with a familiar interaction from a different game series. The fall itself is much like the Leap of Faith, an iconic feature of all the Assassin’s Creed games in which the protagonist leaps into a pile of leaves, hay, or water, despite the height that should have obviously killed them.

When players reach the surface from their fall, they will be met with Azzadal, who is now a ghostly bard. He will tell the Dragonborn of his fate, and even provide players with 2 levels in Speech, but sadly, no Hidden Blades for this Dragonborn. It’s always fun and weird to see other franchises crossover, especially when they make fun of each other’s logic.
4 Potato GLaDOS
Skulfdafn, Nordic Ruin
Located deep within Skulfdafn, players will be able to find a fireplace, which harbors an unusual secret. This area is inaccessible after players visit it, as it is integral to the story. After players have ventured to Skulfdafn, there is no coming back, and players can check this fireplace out to discover Portal’s very own iconic villain, GLaDOS, in her potato form.
GLaDOS was seen in her potato form in Portal 2, and this easter egg features a scaled-down snack to recreate the iconic look. The design looks eerily similar to how it did in Portal 2, and to see GLaDOS trapped in flames in Tamriel, might make Chel snicker. It’s an odd easter egg for Skyrim, considering one series is set in fantasy, and the other, sci-fi.
3 Luke Skywalker And The Wampa
Bleakcoast Cave
Luke Skywalker had a pretty close call with a Wampa back on Hoth in Star Wars' The Empire Strikes Back. Luckily, with the power of the Force, Luke was able to grab his lightsaber embedded into the snow to free himself, and take out the Wampa that was set to eat him. It seemed that the Luke Skywalker of Tamriel couldn’t help this fate due to the fact that although magic exists, the Force does not.

To become the best Mage in Skyrim, players should take a look at these builds that could offer some immense power and variety.
Players can locate skeletal remains, with a sword of flame on the floor. In this cave, players will also find plenty of ice trolls, which would be this game’s version of Wampas. It might be sad to see the heroic Luke Skywalker as a skeleton, but not everyone gets a happy ending in The Elder Scrolls.
2 The Hangover
A Night to Remember Quest
Located in any tavern in the major cities after Level 14, players will find the mysterious Sam Guevenne, petitioning the player to join them for a drink. If players indulge in some alcohol with Sam, they will find themselves waking up in a strange location with a new quest titled A Night to Remember. This quest sees players try and find out where Sam went, all whilst running through an array of messes that their drunken self was completely responsible for.
The quest itself is in relation to The Hangover, a comedy that features a group of friends in Las Vegas trying to recount the night before, to which they have no memory of the wild antics they embarked on. It’s a fun quest referencing a fun movie, but a weird one for Tamriel.
1 Ghostbusters 2’s Vigo The Carpathian
Random Souls in Soul Cairn
In perhaps one of the weirdest easter eggs to feature in Skyrim, players with the Dawnguard DLC can access this one to find a reference to the most unlikely: Vigo the Carpathian, the main villain in Ghostbusters 2. Players need to travel to Soul Cairn, where they can talk to random NPCs scattered around, and converse with these random souls to get some pieces of dialogue that may be rather creepy, so keep a companion close.
There is one interesting dialogue, where a random NPC will say “Death is but a door. Time is but a window. I’ll be back.” These are famed and chilling words of Vigo from Ghostbusters 2, and it seems that this villain has journeyed across Tamriel’s depths to one day take over New York City.
