The Boys continues to be one of the best anti-superhero shows for fans who want a gory series full of superpowered tyrants who need to be taken down a peg. Most of the characters in The Boys are pretty despicable in their own way, but these flaws make these characters riveting. With the show slated to end by the fifth season, most fans are glad to find out that this series won't overstay its welcome, which that other superhero media has been criticized for.

There are many possible ways The Boys can end, and it's easy to see why people are so invested in seeing how things pan out for the show's major characters. Fans can't stop discussing the many potential endings for this show, and some sound more captivating than others. Still, all of this is just speculation at this point. Fans can only wait and see how things pan out in the long run.

5 Ryan Turns On His Father And Kills Homelander

The Kid Stops The Superpowered Tyrant

Ryan Butcher The Boys Season 3

Ryan is one of the more fascinating characters in the series, and for good reason. The awakening of his superpowers was something that fans wanted for the longest time, prompting both Homelander and Butcher to take action. As things stand, Ryan is tempted by the idea of becoming a superhero at the same level as Homelander's power. Plus, his father is feeding his delusions by showing the sheer adoration people will have for him.

However, Ryan is also one of the few people who can arguably stand against Homelander's monstrous might. This may prompt Butcher and The Boys to figure out a way to make the kid see reason and stop his father before his quest for power reaches ridiculous levels. This could make for an incredible conclusion, as The Boys and Ryan do everything in their power to stop Homelander before he goes off the deep end and kills anyone who even looks at him the wrong way.

4 Butcher Dies After Using V24

Fights Every Corrupt Superhero At The Cost Of His Own Life

the boys billy butcher

V24 made things interesting by giving regular people superpowers for a temporary time period. Both Hughie and Butcher used this compound to stand against Homelander and other corrupt supes, but this came at a huge cost. It turned out that V24 was a flawed product and could kill someone who took too much of this experimental product. As one would expect, Butcher ignores these risks to the point where his lifespan is severely diminished.

Fans could see Butcher go down this road and try to fight against the corrupt supes of the world, by abusing V24 to the point where his body wastes away. It would be a tragic end to a flawed character who's one of the best in The Boys. Hopefully, everyone's favorite anti-hero enjoys an ending that isn't too tragic.

3 The Boys Use Compound V To Get Permanent Superpowers

Follows The Comic Book Storyline

the boys season 3 Cropped (1)

The comics may be the main source of inspiration for The Boys, but the narrative of this version of the story is wildly different from the TV series. Superheroes are comically evil in the source material, and Butcher & Co. have no problem using Compound V to even the odds and use super-strength to destroy anyone standing in their way. However, in the series, it's made clear by the other members of the group that they don't want to sink to the level of a supe in order to fight them.

The Boys: 12 Things Only Comic Readers Know About Homelander

In Amazon Prime Video's The Boys, Homelander is the twisted leader of The Seven, but his comic version is a whole other beast.

However, with two seasons left and Homelander becoming more and more power-hungry, it's possible that the heroes may have no choice. They may have to take this plunge and become superheroes themselves to even the odds against a man with the mentality of a toddler and infinite power at his disposal. How they can justify such an action is a different story altogether, but there's no denying that this would set the stage for a wild ending that could lead to Homelander's demise.

2 Soldier Boy & Homelander Join Forces

Father & Son Unite As The Boys' Final Hurdle

soldier boy homelander Cropped

The fact that Soldier Boy is Homelander's father makes for an incredible revelation. The two engage in a battle that shows that both heroes can definitely fight on equal ground, even if the series' version of Superman is slightly more powerful. They didn't end things on the best note, and it doesn't seem like there's any scenario where father and son reunite to become the strongest supe duo of all time.

However, with the wild trajectory that The Boys has taken time and again, it's easy to see how this scenario could come to pass in due time. The Boys will have their work cut out for them if two of the strongest supes of all time join forces to establish their claim on the world.

1 Neuman Teams Up With Homelander

A Megalomaniac Power Couple That Must Be Stopped At All Costs

Neuman and Homelander in The Boys

Victoria Neuman is poised to play a major role in the show's last two seasons unless she suffers a violent (and much-deserved death). Her uneasy alliance with Homelander is bound to be a source of tension, and fans can only wait and see if the two of them decide to team up and try to use public influence to maintain their positions of power.

This could make it tricky for The Boys to get close to the two of them in the event that they decide to duke it out. Homelander's lasers and Neuman's head-popping abilities make them tough to crack. It's also possible that Neuman can manipulate Homelander romantically as many others have done in the past, given how crafty and manipulative she has shown herself to be.
