A new tweet from Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 developer Raven Software has announced that the Battle Rage and Dead Silence Field Upgrades have been temporarily removed from the game while the developers investigate an issue with the perks. This isn’t the first time that one of these upgrades has caused players headaches, as the Dead Silence Field Upgrade in the original Call of Duty: Warzone was eventually nerfed by the addition of the High Alert perk.Despite boasting a player count in the tens of millions just weeks after launching for PC and consoles, Infinity Ward and Raven Software have faced complaints from players due to numerous bugs and glitches in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0. Gamers diving into the free-to-play Battle Royale title have encountered gameplay bugs ranging from the mildly annoying to the utterly game-breaking, leaving many franchise fans disappointed with the present state of the game. The removal of two popular Field Upgrades, even if only temporarily, is likely to add to player frustrations.RELATED: Dr Disrespect Reveals Why He Was Banned from Call of Duty: Warzone 2A tweet from the official Raven Software Twitter account informed players of the popular shooter that the Battle Rage and Dead Silence Field Upgrades would be temporarily disabled, with a provided link directing players to the game’s Trello page for status updates on the issue. No further details were provided about what the issue with the two Field Upgrades was, or when they would return to the game. In addition to seemingly causing issues in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, many players voiced displeasure with how Dead Silence was implemented during the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 open beta test.

Responses to the tweet were generally negative, with players taking the opportunity to express their displeasure with not only the removal of the two Field Upgrades, but with the numerous gameplay issues still plaguing the free-to-play title. Several gamers posted screenshots of gameplay issues unrelated to the two Field Upgrades, apparently hoping to catch the attention of the Raven Software developers, while another posted pictures of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0’s Trello page loaded with multiple gameplay bugs under investigation. Other responses expressed hope that Dead Silence would be permanently removed from the game, stating that it doesn’t belong in a Battle Royale title.

While this latest issue with Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 may not be as rage-inducing as some of the game-breaking bugs encountered by players since the game’s release, for some gamers it will serve as another sign that Warzone 2 was rushed to release. Unfortunately for gamers who’d rather just be done with the Battle Royale sequel altogether and hop back into the original, the pared-down and disappointing Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera may be an even less appealing option.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
