Matthias Lund, one of the early boss enemies in Wartales

One of the earliest available legendary weapons in Wartales is the two-handed mace, Lucilla. Said to have been forged originally by a woman named Alexa, in order to chop wood, this two-handed axe would eventually go on to behead the Lord of Alazar. This weapon provides a massive 90% damage bonus as well as applying bleed damage for every successful hit. Splitter is an area-of-effect weapon, much like Lucilla, and contains a similarly wide striking arc.

Targets will also lose health equal to all combined applied effects at the end of their turn, and this damage is stackable with every successive hit. Splitter is acquired at random from merchants or fallen opponents throughout Tiltren.

6 The Ingenious One

Tiltren Tomb's exterior in Wartales

This ancient one-handed mace is said to be impossible for any present-day blacksmith to reproduce, due to the ancient and forgotten wisdom that must have gone into forging such a mighty weapon. The mace is found in Legendary Ruins, but its location will vary depending on whether players are using Region-Locked mode or free exploration.

The "Wrath of Erkeshet" ability is also available with this weapon, granting the user 60-80% damage as well as a guaranteed critical hit and double damage if the target has more health than the player. This can be especially useful when facing opponents of a higher level, and can be used by tank-like units who are absorbing damage in order to level the playing field.

5 The Indomitable One

Wartales Archer Class

Perhaps the best bow and ranged weapon in Wartales is The Indomitable One. Another inimitable weapon crafted by the ancients, this bow will cause area damage across a 9m line, and any critical hits will knock back enemies by 2m in addition to losing 10% of total HP.

The bow is acquired by defeating the elite boss in Arthes. Fortunately this is one of the easier elites to defeat, especially on region-locked mode where the boss will be capped to level 5. The bow can do up to 46 damage at level 9, which is considerably more than most weapon types.

Wartales Liberator

The Liberator is a powerful two-handed spear that is best equipped by the Spearman class. A strike from this weapon will cause damage up to 80% and cause the opponent to disengage. It also has a 3m circular range, making it an effective defensive tool in all directions.

The Liberator is acquired by defeating the Gosenburg Boss. This boss will be considerably more challenging than many others due to his unique abilities and summoning of further enemies, but it is worth taking on the challenge for players with a party centreed around any characters in the Spearman class.

3 Kruppe's Saex

Wartales Kruppe

Kruppe's Saex is another item dropped by a defeated boss, only this time it is the Alazar boss, Kristoff Kruppe. This powerful dagger is the epitome of deadliness and cunning, ideally suited to veteran characters in the Ranger class. Particularly effective from behind, this weapon is likely to induce huge amounts of damage both on first strike and over time with its cumulative damagin effects.

The axe is obtained by defeating the Ludern Boss, the Master Tracker, Bionn. This formidable boss will require the strength of the entire party to defeat, but the rewards are certainly worth it for one of the best one-handed weapons in Wartales.

1 Faithless

Wartales Faithless

Arguably the strongest and most versatile weapon in Wartales is the off-hand axe dubbed "Faithless". In addition to being an off-hand weapon, which allows for the wielder to possess tremendous damage output with two weapons equipped, Faithless also has a unique passive ability where, after using any skill, the player will throw the axe and deal damage to the farthest opponent within a 6m radius.

The axe is acquired by completing the Alazar Arena, which will require players to defeat four rounds of opponents and a final boss.

Wartales is available now on PC.
