Mario's weird entrepreneurial cousin is back at it again, trying to take over the world via capitalism in WarioWare: Get it Together. In this new venture from Wario Inc., players will be tasked with completing whatever video games and odd jobs that the pudgy CEO thinks he can make money off of. Located back in Diamond City, WarioWare: Get it Together will see the tycoon's employees returning after Wario had refused to share the wealth in previous games. While Wario will likely still be up to new tricks, this next entry will see the other characters be able to keep a closer eye on him via a new co-op multiplayer mechanic.

Wario, like all evil businessmen, seeks to make as much money as possible before leaving his allies in the dust. It could be that WarioWare: Get it Together will also see the employees of WarioWare Inc. being left behind by Wario, once they've made him enough money. The decision to bring the WarioWare series to the Switch makes a lot of sense, as each new system that Nintendo has used has found a new way to evolve the mechanics from the game before it. The Switch used the motion controls from the Wii remote, and the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS also found new ways to incorporate the touch screen.

The Switch's Unique Features Enhance WarioWare

The great thing about the Switch is that it combines all of Nintendo's console innovations over the last two decades into one machine. It works just as well solo as it does in bringing multiple players together. This works into WarioWare: Get it Together, which is the first game in the series that will allow players to play together on the same console, taking full advantage of the consoles Joy-Con's ability to be used as tw0 separate controllers. The game will also offer co-op play for local wireless, which is sure to please those with the Nintendo Switch Lite consoles.

In addition to the new multiplayer capabilities, the Switch is a beefed up new system for WarioWare to take advantage of. Nintendo is in a unique position to see what worked using the mechanics in previous games and applying that to the new and improved versions of those features on the Switch, such as motion controls and touch-screen capability. If Nintendo plays its cards right, this could very well lead to the best new WarioWare game in a generation.

Pick Up and Put Down this Whimsical Adventure

In 2003 the first WarioWare game, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, released for the GameCube and Game Boy Advance. In this game, the player helped Wario and his new friends from Diamond City create and sell video games in an effort to become rich. However, the end of that game saw Wario appearing to escape with all the riches and leaving his new friends in the dust.

While he wasn't able to get away, the damage to his reputation had been done. In WarioWare: D.I.Y., Wario was a selfish baby, so his friends decided to leave him to join the competition. They're back in WarioWare: Get it Together, although it seems that Wario has fallen from glory. With his friends back at the company, WarioWare Inc. will let players take on the roles of Wario and his employees by giving the freedom to just do a few mini-games on the go, or marathon the title through the night.

The new Wario game, WarioWare: Get it Together, will reintroduce this silly franchise to a new console that gives Nintendo a unique opportunity. It could be a good thing for fans of Nintendo, as WarioWare: Get it Together has the chance to completely change the mini-game format in its own strange ways. That being said, repeating too many past WarioWare mini-games or not introducing enough variety to the multiplayer is likely to spin the fans' opinions in another direction.

WarioWare: Get it Together will release on September 10th, 2021, for Nintendo Switch.
