Necramechs were introduced to Warframe in the Heart of Deimos Update (Update 29) as a powerful new war machine players could use in open-world environments. There are currently two models of Necramech available to players: The Voidrig and the Bonewidow. Each model has a set of four abilities and can be equipped with Archguns.

This guide is focused on the Voidrig model of Necramech and will explain how to obtain the blueprints, assemble the components, and ride it into battle. This guide will also discuss the Necramech mods that can be useful in improving the effectiveness of the Voidrig. Much like a Warframe, Necramech's have four unique abilities that can be used to the player's advantage.

Where to get the blueprints for the Voidrig

loid-otak-introduction

In order to craft the Voidrig players will first need to acquire the four component blueprints and manufacture the parts. These four blueprints can all be acquired from Loid after reaching rank 1 in the Necraloid Syndicate. This is accomplished by gathering Orokin Matrices dropped by enemy Necramechs, or obtained as rewards from Mother's "Isolation Vault" bounty, and trading them to Loid for Standing.

Once Rank 1 is reached players are able to purchase the blueprints for the Voidrig Casing, Engine, Capsule, and Weapon Pod. Crafting these will require a number of rare resources that can only be acquired through interaction with several other factions. These resources are:

  • Venerdo Alloy, Crafted using a reusable blueprint available from Smokefinger at Rank 1 Solaris United Standing.
  • Marquise Veridos, Crafted using a reusable blueprint available from Old Man Suumbaat at Rank 2 Ostron Standing.
  • Stellated Necrathene, Crafted using a reusable blueprint available from Otak at Rank 2 Entrati Standing.
  • Tempered Bapholite, Crafted using a reusable blueprint available from Otak at Rank 0 Entrati Standing.
  • Thaumic Distillate, Crafted using a reusable blueprint available from Otak at Rank 2 Entrati Standing.

Once all four components have been crafted players will need to acquire the Voidrig Necramech Blueprint from Loid. It is available after reaching Rank 2 in the Necraloid Syndicate. After acquiring the blueprint and manufacturing it at the foundry, the Voidrig is ready for use. If this is the first Necramech the player has acquired they will also receive the gear item "Necramech Summon", which is used to call a Necramech in Open World Areas.

The Voidrig's Weapons and Abilities

Warframe-Heart of Deimos-Necramech

The Voidrig comes equipped with the Mausolon Arch-Gun and a set of four unique abilities that can be used to great effect in combat.

The Mausolon is a fully automatic heavy rifle that fires explosive shots. These shots primarily deal Heat and Puncture damage, and are very effective against Cloned Flesh, Infested, and Infested Flesh. The gun also has a secondary fire which is charged up by kills with the primary fire. The secondary fire launches a high damage laser that explodes on contact with surfaces or enemies, dealing damage in an 8 meter radius on impact.

The first ability the Voidrig can make use of is called "Necraweb", costs 25 energy, and hurls a canister of gravitation fluid that creates a large globe-like area that slows enemies entering it by 50%. If the canister is shot in the air instead of being left to detonate manually it detonates dealing radial blast damage. This can be useful for controlling the flow of enemies, dealing with groups, and taking better advantage of choke points.

The second ability of the Voidrig is "Storm Shroud" which costs 50 energy and deploys a reinforcing buffer of health that must be depleted before damage can be dealt to the Necramech itself. The buffer starts with a flat amount of health that increases based on the ability's rank (400/600/800/1200). When first activated, the Buffer is invulnerable for 3 seconds and any damage it takes is multiplied by an amount based on the ability's rank (100% / 125% / 175% / 250%) and added to the Buffer's HP. When attacked while active, the Voidrig has a chance determined by ability rank (25% / 50% / 75% / 100%) to reflect the damage back to attackers.

Storm Shroud is tremendously useful in improving the survivability of the Necramech in combat situations.

The third ability of the Voidrig is called "Gravemines," costs 75 Energy, and deploys a number of mines determined by ability rank (8 / 12 / 16 / 24) in an area around the Necramech also determined by ability rank (5 / 6 / 7 / 8 meters). These mines detonate on contact with enemies dealing 200 damage and triggering a guaranteed heat status effect. They will also self detonate after 2.5 seconds.

Gravemines are useful for dealing with swarms of enemies or setting a trap for an incoming pack of foes to run into.

The fourth and final ability of the Voidrig is "Guard Mode", costs 50 energy, and allows it to anchor itself to the ground and deploy its Turret. The Turret is an Arch-Gun known as "Arquebex", and is equipped on both arms of the Voidrig while this ability is activated. Guard mode renders the Voidrig immobile and drains 5 energy each second. This ability remains active as long as the Voidrig has energy.

The Exalted Weapon Arquebex is a set of twin energy mortars that deals Blast and Heat damage. It has the highest base damage of any weapon in the game, and shots explode in a 6-meter radius on contact with enemies or any surface. It can be used to great effect to eliminate swarms of foes and as an additional benefit, the weapon has infinite ammo while active and does not need to reload.

The Voidrig can be equipped with Necramech Mods which are obtained by defeating Necramechs inside Isolation Vaults on Deimos.

Voidrig Tips and Tricks

There are some useful additional details about the Necramech system that players will be interested to know. The first of these is that Railjack Intrinsics apply benefits to Necramechs, even outside of Empyrean Missions (Railjack Missions). These benefits are as follows:

  • Gunnery Rank 5: Gun Damage increased by 20%
  • Piloting Rank 7: Movement Speed increased by 10%
  • Engineering Rank 9: Health and Shields increased by 25%

It's also useful to know that, while the default weapon of the Voidrig is excellent, the Voidrig can be equipped with other Arch-Guns as the Player desires in order to better fit their playstyle or to adapt to specific missions and enemy types.

The Voidrig's melee weapon ("Pugil") cannot be changed but can be equipped with mods like any other weapon. The same is true of the Arquebex Exalted Weapon used in the Voidrig's fourth ability.
